Who went home on Survivor Season 51 Episode 6?

Ori Jean-Charles became the seventh castaway eliminated from Survivor 51.

In a heartwrenching Tribal Council, the Savu tribe of three became a tribe of two. While Ori worked hard to persuade Jelly Loblack or Devin Way to keep him in the game, the duo held strong and voted him out. His Shot in the Dark couldn’t save him, and Ori was sent home.

Ori is the eighth person to leave Survivor this season.

What happened on Survivor Season 51 Episode 6?

After a fiery double elimination, the game is definitely in full swing. Let’s start off with the lay of the land …

Tribes of Survivor Season 51

Here are the updated Tribe rosters at the beginning of the episode:

The New Toka Tribe (Yellow)

  • An “Thien An” Nguyen
  • Brady Booker
  • Carter Krull
  • Kristin Flickinger
  • Maggie Nestor
  • Mike Pinksy

The New Savu Tribe (Purple)

  • Alexis Levine – ELIMINATED
  • Angelica “Jelly” Loblack
  • Devin Way
  • Jenna Doore – ELIMINATED
  • Ori Jean-Charles

The Dina Tribe (Red)

  • Cristian Chavez
  • Danny “Kilby” Kilby
  • Eric Macksoud
  • Linnea Capobianco – ELIMINATED
  • Lewis Kelly
  • Sharonda Cox

Previously eliminated: Aaliyah Puglia, Ana Sani, Patt Cannaday, Rob Antonson (voluntary)

Alright, now that that’s squared away, let’s get back to the episode. After that fiery Tribal Council, the Dina Tribe is restless. Lewis feels luckier than ever, and Kilby has earned a new name: Chaos Kilby. Eric, Kilby’s Loverboy ally, feels betrayed. Kilby, who he viewed as a true friend, is now “the most dangerous player in this game.”

The next day, Sharonda tells Eric not to trust Kilby, and things seem tight between the OG Savu crew (Sharonda, Eric and Christian). But Christian is ready to “bring chaotic fun into the mix,” and lets Lewis know he’s down to work with him and Kilby. Lewis, who knew he and Kilby needed another miracle to stay in the game after a tumultuous Tribal Council, is elated. This should be interesting!

On Savu, the trio of Ori, Jelly and Devin is tighter than ever. They’re chopping coconuts, model walking, and having a blast – a nice respite from the intense game of Survivor. The thought of having to vote each other out is more than they can bear, so they agree they must win immunity.

While things are all kumbaya on Savu, the vibe is much different at Camp Toka. Mike feels he’s on the outs, so he works to bond with Kristin. Brady is not having that, and now begins to examine Mike’s every move. Brady is also at odds with Maggie, and the feeling is mutual. Maggie and Thien An are also anti-Mike. And when Mike offers Kristin a blank check vote deal, Kristin isn’t sure why she would align with someone so vulnerable.

Off to Summit

The tribes get mail! A summit has been called. Each tribe must send one player as a representative. Here’s who goes:

  • Dina Tribe representative: Sharonda
  • Savu Tribe representative: Ori
  • Toka Tribe representative: Kristin

And here’s how it all happens:

On Dina, they decide to draw Shots in the Dark. But Christian – now in chaos mode – holds tightly to Lewis and Kilby’s so that they won’t be chosen, and he can spend more time bonding with them. This leads Lewis to draw Sharonda’s Shot.

Savu also uses their Shots in the Dark to draw, and Ori’s is chosen.

On Toka, Thien An and Maggie immediately push for Kristin to go. Mike tries to shoot his shot, but he’s overtly ignored (and Kristin is chosen).

When Sharonda, Ori, and Kristin meet, it’s like reuniting with old friends – even though it has technically only been a few days since they’ve been together.

As they’re walking, they see two plates of food. Yep, only two. While two of them will take food back to their tribes and become heroes for the day, one will remain and spend the night on Exile Island. There’s a hefty reward for the one who stays, though: a Tethered Idol. Whoever earns it is the only person allowed to play it, and they must use it to save one of the other two. After an epic poker-face moment, Kristin volunteers to stay.

On Exile Island, Kristin learns there’s more to her new idol. In the event that both Ori and Sharonda are no longer in the game, the Tethered Idol becomes a full-fledged Idol. Nice! As it turns out, surviving on Exile Island is everything Kristin has ever wanted, and she gets emotional recounting her 25-year journey of auditioning for the show.

Ori and Sharonda take food back to their respective tribes. Neither of them share details about the Tethered Idol, which – in Sharonda’s case – reads suspicious to Lewis and Kilby.

Immunity Challenge

Survivor Season 51
CBS

The tribes arrive for the Immunity Challenge and Kristin rejoins her tribe post Exile Island. Maggie gets her first glimpse at the new Dina Tribe – and she’s overjoyed that Lewis and Kilby made the big play she set up for them. With only three members left in Savu, only three players from each of the other tribes can play. It boils down to:

  • Savu Tribe: Devin, Jelly, Ori
  • Toka Tribe: Brady, Kristin, Maggie
  • Dina Tribe: Christian, Kilby, Lewis

It’s a race of tangled ropes, sandbags and an epic puzzle. Two tribes will win immunity, and only one tribe will be sent to Tribal Council.

Savu takes an early lead and manages to hold onto it for most of the challenge… until they get to the puzzle. Toka and Dina pull ahead while Savu drowns in puzzle pieces. In the end, Toka finishes a millisecond ahead of Dina, granting both tribes immunity.

Which means the Savu trio will soon be a Savu duo, as they must head to Tribal Council and send someone home. Before sending the devastated Savu Tribe back to camp, Jeff asks how they’re feeling. Jelly can hardly speak, she’s so overwhelmed with emotion.

Back at Camp Savu

A solemn Savu trio walks back to camp silently. It feels weird to talk game when only three people are left, and there’s so much love between them. They discuss all playing their Shots in the Dark. Jelly shares that she has an Immunity Idol and refuses to be the seventh woman in a row sent home. Ori, seeing that he’s the odd man out, goes to work. He sees no cracks in Jelly, she’s steadfast when it comes to sticking with Devin. But there is a glimmer of hope in his conversation with Devin, who still has an extra vote in his back pocket.

Jelly dons Devin’s red sweater, but is it a sign of a bond or collateral? Sitting with Jeff, Devin reveals that his talk with Ori was eye-opening. However, Jelly doubles down on her connection with Devin, and he reciprocates. Both say beautiful words about Ori, who he is as a person and his gameplay. Ori’s goal is to win Survivor and retire his mother and – if he doesn’t achieve this – he says he’ll feel he’s failed. It’s time to vote.

Jeff asks if anyone wants to play an idol, and Jelly does not play hers. She’s putting full trust in Devin. Ori plays his Shot in the Dark, but without success, as it reads “Not Safe.” Two votes from Devin and Jelly lead to Jeff extinguishing Ori’s torch, sending a member of the Helicopter Alliance home.
