Watch NowWhat happened on Survivor Season 51 Episode 5?
It’s the aftermath of Jenna Doore’s exit for the Savu Tribe. Jelly Loblack contains her emotions, while Devin Way wastes no time showing how excited he is. Alexis Levine is relieved that trust is building within the tribe. Back at camp, they discuss their “whys” for competing on Survivor. Ori Jean-Charles speaks lovingly about his mom. Devin breaks down talking about his brothers. Alexis shares her story of addiction, and how she plans to help women in crisis. The bond within this group is very strong, even though they’ve only been a tribe for a couple of days.
Over at Toka, the castaways have set up a basketball court. Smart move, considering basketball is a game that encourages team building and coordination. On that vibe,Thien An Nguyen is down with the whole team – except for Mike Pinsky. The way he’s moved thus far has rubbed her the wrong way. But there’s an issue: He is close with Kristin Flickinger, who Thien An appreciates. In fact, basically the whole tribe is all buddy-buddy with Kristin, which is no good in Maggie Nestor’s eyes. While Kristin is full of wilderness knowledge, Maggie sees her as a serious threat and a simple choice to eliminate if a visit to Tribal Council is in their immediate future. When she tries to explain this to Brady Booker, however, he’s able to flip her perspective quickly. So quickly, in fact, that he now considers her “flippy-floppy.”
The Dina tribe has coffee talk, enjoying their coffee-bar winnings. Lewis Kelly is finally feeling better and works to catch up by building bonds with his new tribe. The problem is, no one wants to talk strategy and he’s not at all familiar with the American references they discuss. (Shout-out to The Big Comfy Couch and the band Flogging Molly, the lead singer of which is, coincidentally, from Lewis’s hometown of Dublin, Ireland.) He finds time to chat with Linnea Capobianco, who wants him to think she’s on his side. The joke’s on him, though, as Linnea plans to stay OG #SavuStrong with Sharonda Cox, Christian Chavez, and Eric Macksoud, and vote Lewis out should they head to Tribal Council.
Speaking of heading to Tribal Council, we should set some things straight following last episode’s vote…

Immunity Challenge
It’s a wet and wild Immunity Challenge set up on the seas.
There will only be one winning tribe this time. That tribe will also receive a reward: a massive basket of pastries from the Survivor bakery. The winning tribe will be safe, but the two losing tribes will both go to Tribal Council. There’s a lot on the line (read: CARBS), and everyone is excited to compete.
Two people from both Dina and Toka sit out to match the four members of Savu, and they’re off. Toka is the first to collect all three of their balls, followed by Savu, then Dina. You’d think balancing three balls between three people on water would be hard – and you’d be right – but Toka makes it look easy. The final leg of the competition involves shooting said balls into floating baskets. It’s a good thing Toka has been practicing their bball skills, because Mike is able to secure all three shots before Dina can catch up. Toka takes the win and Maggie is so excited that she actually tackles Mike.
That means Dina and Savu are headed to Tribal Council, and a member from each of the tribes will be sent home.
Back at camp
For Savu, the vote is split down the middle according to their OG tribe allegiances (Ori and Alexis from OG Savu and Jelly and Devin from OG Toka). Ori is in a unique position, as he’s also in the Helicopter Alliance with Jelly and Devin. “I’m gonna have to pull the trigger and it’s gonna hurt,” he says. Devin tells Alexis he has an extra vote. Secretly, his goal is to make her feel safe so that they can blindside her. But Alexis isn’t counting her chickens before they hatch. She sees Devin as a threat and recognizes that convincing Jelly to vote against him won’t be easy – but she must try! She’s pretty persuasive, reminding Jelly that she’s been on the losing side of too many votes thanks to Devin and that it’s time for her to focus on her own game. Alexis and Jelly also bring up the fact that only women have been eliminated in Season 51 so far. Jelly must choose: Be responsible for another woman going home, or break the trust of the all-Black Helicopter Alliance.
At Camp Dina, Kilby has found no cracks in the OG Savu crew, so he’s leaning toward throwing Lewis under the bus to save his own skin. Lewis, sensing the trouble he’s in, uses his imagination to come up with a ditch-effort plan that feeds off of the rumor that he earned some advantage while in exile. He tells Sharonda he has a Blood Ring. He explains that the ring links two castaways; if either person is eliminated, the other must also leave the competition. Sharonda is skeptical, and goes to Eric. Eric believes the Blood Ring could be real, and brings the news to Linnea and Christian. Christian clocks the ring as the very same ring Lewis told him represented his Irish background. It turns out poor Lewis did enough bonding for that story to stick with Christian, rendering his idea a flop.
A Special Visit
Toka is on Cloud 9 after their Immunity Challenge win. But when they arrive back at camp, there’s a note. They must choose one tribe member to visit another beach before they can dig into the baked goods. Mike, Maggie, and Kristin all volunteer, and Maggie’s name is drawn. They wish her good luck and goodbye, not knowing if she’s even coming back or what this adventure might bestow on her.
As soon as she gets to the boat, Maggie learns she’s earned an extra vote, bringing her extra vote total to two, thanks to the one she’s “sharing” with Brady. Maggie is ready to stir things up and sails over to Dina for a visit. Once she gets Kilby and Lewis alone, she gives them not just one, but both extra votes so they have a fighting chance at Tribal Council. Kilby, who has done an incredible job building trust within Toka, is in a tough spot. He must now decide if he’s ready to leave Lewis in the dust and ruin his relationship with Maggie in the process.
With another chicken down (RIP) and a basket of yummy pastries acquired, the table is set for a very interesting Tribal Council.

Tribal Council
Devin clearly states that he’ll never vote against Jelly. He then gets extremely emotional, professing that he has love for every person in his tribe. Jelly knows she must come to terms with crushing someone’s dream if she’s to achieve her own. Alexis tries to laugh things off, but she’s feeling stressed. The bottom line for Savu is that someone who is loved and appreciated by the tribe will be sent home, no matter what.
No one plays an advantage or idol. The votes break down to three for Alexis and one for Devin, meaning the Helicopter Alliance (minus Sharonda) succeed in sending Alexis home.
Oh, but that’s not all, folks! Another tribe is on the chopping block tonight. In Tribal Council Part II, Lewis explains how he’s tried to use his exile to his advantage. Eric talks about Maggie’s visit, and Sharonda points out that Maggie must have brought something. At that, Kilby makes it known that he received an extra vote from Maggie. He’s putting everything out in the open.
No advantages or idols are played. Linnea receives four votes (two from Lewis and… two from Kilby!) Lewis also receives four votes, from Eric, Christian, Linnea, and Sharonda. It’s a tie! Now they must revote, only for Lewis or Linnea and, wouldn’t you know it, they’re deadlocked.
Jeff breaks down how this will work: Eric, Kilby, Sharonda, and Christian must unanimously decide who to send home. If the four of them cannot decide whether to eliminate Lewis or Linnea, they will have to draw rocks. Lewis and Linnea will be safe, and the odd rock out will send one of them home instead.
A heated discussion ensues. Kilby explains why he’s standing on business and sticking by Lewis, while his tribemates let him know how he’s damaged their trust. They aren’t able to come to a decision, as Kilby refuses to budge. Not wanting to take the chance of one of them being sent home, the four apologetically decide to turn on Linnea. It’s such a whirlwind that Linnea fails to remember an essential game piece on her way up to meet Jeff on her first approach. Jeff helps her out, saying “So crazy you forgot your torch.”
In case you’re keeping track: That’s seven castaways out of the game so far: one man – and six women.
Who went home on Survivor Season 51 Episode 5?
Alexis Levine and Linnea Capobianco became the fifth and sixth castaways eliminated from Survivor 51.
Alexis worked hard to convince Jelly to play her game independent of Devin by making the choice to send him home, but in the end it was a lost cause. Though many tears are shed over scrolls, Jelly (and Ori) stay true to the Helicopter Alliance set at the very beginning of the season and vote, along with Devin, to send Alexis home.
Alexis is the sixth person to head home from Survivor this season.

In the second part of Tribal Council in Episode 5, the Dina tribe are deadlocked twice – once, thanks to the two extra votes Maggie bestows on Kilby and Lewis, and again when Kilby refuses to vote against his OG tribemate, Lewis. Jeff gives the castaways a choice: Eric, Kilby, Sharonda and Christian must come to a unanimous decision on who to send home, or the four of them will draw rocks to see which one of them is eliminated. Kilby won’t budge, and the four definitely don’t want to risk being sent home, so Linnea’s torch is snuffed in one of the most surprising eliminations in Survivor history.
Linnea is the seventh person to leave Survivor Season 51.

What’s next on Survivor Season 51?
Next week on Survivor Season 51, Kilby and Lewis brace for the fallout from Tribal Council, Savu revels in the fact that their tribe is now made up entirely of members of the Helicopter Alliance, and Maggie is driving Brady absolutely bonkers.
