Watch NowWhat happened on Survivor Season 51 Episode 2?
The sun rises on camp Toka the morning after the first castaway is sent home, and everyone is making nice and everything is forgiven. Or is it?
Jenna Doore, who narrowly avoided elimination, has a new lease on life in the game. Devin Way brands his voting strategy “weaponized honesty,” and confirms that his bond with Brady Booker is still intact despite them not agreeing on who should have gone home.
Then, there’s rustling in the bushes. Is it a critter? A BIG critter? No. It’s … Lewis Kelly! Free from Exile Island, Lewis joins Toka. He tells the crew that he had a chance at an advantage but failed. Kilby doesn’t believe him one bit and thinks he must have some sort of advantage up his tattered sleeve.

Alliances shift
Over at camp Savu, Alexis Levine and Ana Sani form an alliance of sorts, but it’s short-lived. Here’s how it came to be and then fell apart:
- First, they agree that Eric is on the chopping block should they head to Tribal Council.
- Then, they identify common threats in Linnea Capobianco and Sharonda Cox.
- Next, when Ana goes to Carter to bring up her convo with Alexis about Sharonda and Linnea, he responds that he doesn’t trust Alexis.
- Ana is in a bit of a pickle … and it only gets worse.
- Alexis sees their huddle and wanders over.
- Ana quickly changes the subject to … popcorn. Yes. She popped up to let Alexis know how much everyone in the group loves popcorn.
- Alexis isn’t buying the buttery goodness. She flips the tables on Ana and heads straight to Linnea and Sharonda to spill the … kernels.
As quickly as bonds are breaking at Savu, something else is severed at Toka. While chopping wood, Brady has a bloody accident, taking off a quarter of his thumb. He immediately begins to worry. Not about his thumb, but about whether he’ll be med-flighted home, ending his time on Survivor. He goes through all of the emotions while Patt Cannaday (aka Pantsless Patt!) holds his detached thumb tip in a seashell. Doc swoops in to dress the thumb and tells Brady he’s fine to head to the challenge. He can’t feel his thumb, but he definitely feels relief that he’s still in the game.
Reward Challenge
It’s time for the first Reward Challenge of Season 51! Jeff Probst unveils the cushy prize pot: pillows, a tarp, mats and a hammock to make for easy livin’ in the wilderness.
Everyone is divided into pairs with one person chosen as the leader and the second person blindfolded. Together, the duos make their way through a challenging obstacle course. The lead changes hands a few times, with the tribes neck and neck at the last station. Jelly’s voice may be crunchy right now, but her gameplay is smooth – she wins it all for Toka.
Savu heads back to camp with a few injuries: Kristin’s foot and Rob’s pride. While the crisis manager keeps her foot elevated, Rob laments that he hates losing, that he’s “very angry,” and then begins to criticize everyone around him. About everything.
Back at camp
Once the prize hammock is set up at Toka, Jelly slips off to look for a hidden immunity idol. Just as she’s about to throw in the towel, she finds one – no drawbacks, no risks, just a straight up immunity idol! After ending up on the wrong side of the vote at the last Tribal Council, she decides to tell Pantsless Patt (and not Devin) about her idol. The pair form a larger alliance with Devin, Brady and Mike.
At Savu Eric starts a make-shift improv show and it is… well, it’s improv, folks. Sharonda, Ori – let’s face it – everyone has had it with Eric, who keeps digging himself deeper into the hole of annoyance.
Immunity Challenge

Savu gives back the whale idol. They’ve named it Posey (inspired by Poseidon).
Before the Immunity Challenge can begin, the rain does. It’s no matter, because the castaways are getting wet right off the bat anyway, jumping into the water to swim to platforms to unleash a 500-pound whale. Savu has a few slower swimmers and congregates on the platform late. Already onto the next step, Toka quickly comes up with a good strategy to get their whale over the barrel. Savu is not so savvy. And while it seems they have an opportunity to catch up while Toka struggles landing the last of three balls, Maggie locks in and succeeds on her fourth try. Toka wins, and Savu must go to Tribal Council. But not before shaking things up!
The expectation is that everyone will vote to send Eric home, but they have to think of who they’ll tell him is on the chopping block. Ana volunteers as tribute.
Ori and Sharonda (still each other’s No. 1s) have a chat. Ori reminds Sharonda that the plan is to vote Eric out; plain and simple. But for Sharonda, things aren’t plain or simple. Now that she knows Ana has had her name in her mouth, she wants her out, but she isn’t sure she wants to go against the majority.
Then, when she eavesdrops on Ori and Carter’s conversation about the best way to catch crabs, Linnea assumes they’re talking game, and wants to hit back. Thus begins a marvelous game of Survivor telephone: Linnea tells Alexis who tells Eric who tells Sharonda who is looking for any excuse to vote Ana out.
Everything seems to be unraveling, including Rob’s psyche. He’s sick of his tribe losing and he’s, well, losing it. He’s running through the gamut of emotions, missing his family and thinking of ways to sacrifice himself so that he can go home. He links up with his Rhode Island bud, Eric, and tells him to follow his lead at Tribal Council, as he plans to make a “groundbreaking” move.
Tribal Council

It’s the second Tribal Council meeting of the season, and the Savu tribe’s first time seeing the intricate set.
Jeff questions the castaways, revealing cracks in what they’d hoped was a harmonious group. Just before they kick off voting, Rob grabs Eric to tell him everything: that the whole tribe is after him but not to worry, because he has a plan to save him.
When it’s Rob’s turn to vote, he writes his own name down, only for the producers to remind him that that’s not something you can do. His “plan” is foiled, so he does not play his idol (that was the plan, right?). It doesn’t matter ultimately, because even though Eric receives four votes (including one from Rob), Ana receives five and is blindsided as the second person voted off of Survivor Season 51.

Who went home on Survivor Season 51 Episode 2?
Ana Sani became the second castaway eliminated from Survivor 51.
The “layup” (as Ori repeatedly urged everyone to perform) should have been to vote Eric out. But the tribe was at odds, igniting another tumultuous Tribal Council. Are we sensing a pattern in the midst of all of this chaos? We’re here for it.
Ana, who, coincidentally, had offered herself up as a decoy to trick Eric, wound up being tricked herself, and was voted off the island in a 5-4 split. Before Jeff could put out her torch, Ana had one final request: For him to use her full first name. He obliged and, with that, Anahita’s torch was extinguished.

What’s next on Survivor Season 51?
Next up on Survivor Season 51, it appears there’s a cross-tribe visit planned. Will there be more arguing? Will alliances falter? Will Brady lose a piece of another digit? With a season built on the shaky ground of permanent uncertainty, there’s no telling – and that’s just how we like it.
