Who needs an expensive dinner reservation when you could have chocolates and Christine Baranski?

The star of CBS All Access' new drama, The Good Fight, made a special Valentine's Day visit to The Late Show to discuss her revamped role, the 2016 presidential election, and how good it feels to curse.

The Good Fight, which premieres on Sunday, Feb. 19 at 8 PM ET on CBS All Access, picks up a year after the exciting events of The Good Wife series finale and follows Baranski's character, Diane Lockhart, as she goes from having it all to hitting rock bottom.

"She's about to retire," Baranski said. "She's reached the top of her game. She's always well-dressed and dignified. But, one-third of the way through the pilot, she loses all of her money in a kind of Madoff Ponzi scheme, so she's back looking for work ... It's a woman having to start her life again."

But, Lockhart's not the only one who had to start over on The Good Fight. Baranski said that the show also had to make some changes when the election took an unexpected turn.

"We were shooting the pilot before, during, and after the election, and the pilot was written on the supposition we would have a female president," she said. "So, we shot the pilot, and in editing, they realized they had an opportunity that it was a brand new, brave new world that we are in, and so they changed the opening."

With so many unanticipated changes—both on the show and in reality—Baranski has found relief in getting to swear on CBS All Access's uncensored, premium platform.

"I even drop the F-word a few times," she said. "It was so liberating."

While at the Ed Sullivan Theater, Baranski also grabbed her white grape juice and slurred her speech to play Congressman Collins' wife, who was not happy to be alone on Valentine's Day.

To see more of Baranski, watch the series premiere of The Good Fight when it launches on CBS All Access on Sunday, Feb. 19 at 8 PM ET, with a special premiere broadcast on CBS at 8/7c.

Adding to the excitement that night, Episode 2 of The Good Fight will be available exclusively on CBS All Access immediately following the series premiere. Subsequent episodes will be released on Sundays, exclusively on CBS All Access.

Watch The Late Show with Stephen Colbert weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on CBS and CBS All Access.
