It was the best of speeches, it was the worst of speeches. On Monday, First Lady hopeful Melania Trump, sent the world into a frenzy when her heartfelt address at the Republican National Convention appeared to have lifted passages directly from Michelle Obama's 2008 oration.
With all of the hubbub surrounding the possibly plagiarized moment, Melania hasn't had an opportunity to fully address the allegations herself. And, since he couldn't drag her away from Cleveland, Stephen invited the next best person: Laura Benanti, who bears a striking resemblance to Mrs. Trump.
You heard it here, folks. Melania—in the words of Dr. Seuss, Charles Dickens, Will Smith, and countless others—did not plagiarize a single word.
