In Halo Season 2, Joseph Morgan brings something extra to his role as James Ackerson, the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) operative brought in to replace Dr. Halsey as the overseer of the SPARTAN-II program: a decades-long passion for the iconic video-game franchise that the hit Paramount+ sci-fi drama series is based on.

"Halo was huge when I was growing up, so everybody was playing it," Morgan says.

And, yes, everybody included the young Morgan.

The star recalls starting with the original Halo game, and playing all the way up to Halo 4. And he didn't stop there.

Before he sank his teeth into his role as James Ackerson in the acclaimed Season 2 of Halo, Morgan went back into game mode.

"...I thought it was my due diligence to play through Halo: Reach – just to make sure I'd done my research," he says.

While we can't confirm if Morgan beat the games on legendary difficulty, we can confirm this: All episodes of Halo Season 1 and Halo Season 2, are now available to binge-watch on Paramount+. And thanks to Halo's incredible cinematic action, elaborate world-building, and major drama, no gaming experience is required to enjoy the ride.
