As of publication, the odds showed USC was favored to beat Purdue by more than 21 points. Last year, the Boilermakers were winless in Big Ten play (and only 1-11 overall). USC finished in the middle of the pack in the conference, with a 4-5 Big Ten record (7-6 overall).
