In this supernatural horror film directed by Danny and Michael Philippou, a group of friends discovers how to conjure spirits using an embalmed hand. The pals become hooked on the new thrill supplied by this high-stakes party game – that is, until one of them goes too far, and unleashes terrifying supernatural forces.
Written by Bill Hinzman and Danny Philippou, the movie stars Sophie Wilde, Alexandra Jensen, Miranda Otto, Joe Bird, and Otis Dhanji.
A Gentleman in Moscow
Adapted from Amor Towles’ internationally best-selling novel, this eight-episode limited series centers on Count Alexander Rostov (Ewan McGregor), whose gilded past has placed him on the wrong side of history in the aftermath of the Russian Revolution. Though spared immediate execution, he is banished by a Soviet tribunal to an attic room of an opulent hotel, and threatened with death if he ever sets foot outside again. As the years pass and some of the most tumultuous decades in Russian history unfold beyond the hotel’s doors, Rostov’s reduced circumstances provide him entry into a much larger world of emotional discovery. Forced to build a life within the walls of the hotel, he discovers the true value of friendship, family, and love.
Alongside McGregor, the series stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Alexa Goodall, Johnny Harris, and Fehinti Balogun. Additional cast members include Leah Harvey, Paul Ready, John Heffernan, Lyès Salem, Björn Hlynur Haraldsson, Dee Ahluwalia, and Anastasia Hille. Beyond the Aggressives: 25 Years Later
In 2005, director Daniel Peddle’s groundbreaking documentary film The Aggressives, currently streaming on Paramount+ with the Paramount+ with SHOWTIME® plan, showcased the remarkable stories of transmasculine people of color who were assigned female at birth. Now, nearly 20 years later, Peddle revisits four of his original subjects – Kisha, Trevon, Octavio, and Chin – and enlightens viewers on what has transpired in their lives since the first movie. In this critically acclaimed follow-up documentary feature, these trailblazing heroes share their triumphs and challenges, including pursuing dreams in the arts, surviving being held in ICE detention, reuniting with estranged children, deciding whether to start families of their own, and seeking gender-affirming healthcare. Through the voices of today’s queer BIPOC, the new film also delves into how much the language, culture, and visibility of the transgender, nonbinary, and gender-nonconforming community has evolved, and grapples with the many complexities of gender identity, expectations, and expression. It is nominated for the Outstanding Documentary Feature at the 35th Annual GLAAD Media Awards
