Over the holiday season, Stephen Colbert sat down with John Dickerson of CBS' Face The Nation for an exclusive interview where he talked about everything from the presidential election to shooting hoops.

As a gift to fans, Face The Nation spread out the interview clips on their site over the course of a week, celebrating what they called "7 Days of Stephen Colbert;" and, what better way to kick off the excitement than with a look back at the 2016 presidential election?

Though Stephen keeps viewers in stitches with his commentary on the President-elect, The Late Show host admitted that coming up with jokes isn't always an easy task.

"Donald Trump speaks one way and behaves in another," he said on Face The Nation. "It's not even 180 degrees. There's some odd, oblique angle going on with him. The balls come over the plate with him like shotgun pellets ... Which of those balls are we gonna swing at? What he's talking about or how he's saying it? Or, who he's saying it to? And what time? And over Twitter?"

Joking aside, Stephen offered some advice to President-elect Trump: "Read the plaque that says 'The buck stops here.'"

Stephen then added, "[Trump's] famous for blaming other people for something going wrong, but that's over. The buck stops at that desk."

Taking a break from all things Trump, Stephen took a moment to focus on the current White House by challenging President Obama to a game of two-on-two basketball, which Vice President Joe Biden already accepted late last year.

With Jon Batiste and Uncle Biden already on board, the ball is—literally—in POTUS' court!
