Get ready for Friday-night lights, NFL preseason style. The Vikings are hitting the road to take on the Titans at 8 PM ET tonight.
The Vikings are coming off a high-flying, 14-3 regular season that came to an abrupt end in the Wild Card round. Led by head coach Kevin O'Connell, the Vikes have retooled in search of their first NFC Championship Game appearance since the 2017-2018 campaign. JJ McCarthy, who lost his first NFL season to injury, is expected to be the Week 1 starting quarterback. In the Vikings' preseason opener, he completed four of seven passes for 30 yards. McCarthy did not play in Week 2.
The hosting Titans, meanwhile, are on a mission to turn things around. Head coach Brian Callahan's squad went 3-14 last season, finishing fourth in the AFC South. They're starting fresh at quarterback with Cam Ward, the overall No. 1 pick of the 2025 NFL draft. In preseason action so far, the rookie has completed seven of 15 passing attempts for 109 yards.
