There are new faces in The Neighborhood Season 8. Amber Stevens West joins the cast in a key recurring role. She plays Mercedes, a reality TV star who hires Malcolm to ghostwrite her romance novel. Also appearing in a guest-star role is Tracy Morgan. He plays Crutch, a cousin of Calvin (Cedric the Entertainer), in the episode, “Welcome To Family Value“; Crutch is the title role that Morgan handles in the Paramount+ original comedy (and The Neighborhood spinoff), Crutch.
What happens in The Neighborhood Season 8?
The Neighborhood Season 8 introduces big life changes, and unexpected challenges for the Johnsons and Butlers. In the Johnson household, Dave (Greenfield) receives surprising news from his job, while Gemma (Behrs) struggles to adjust to her son Grover (Greenspan) leaving Walcott Academy, and attending high school.
Meanwhile, at the Butlers … With Malcolm in Venice Beach, and Courtney (Townsend) moving in with Marty (Spears), Calvin and Tina (Arnold) become empty nesters. Malcolm takes on a new job as a ghostwriter for a reality star. Marty and Courtney’s relationship goes in a new direction as they navigate parenting their daughter, Daphne.
