Also at the panel, it was announced that Ruaridh Aldington will be joining the cast of the second season of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy as a series regular. Aldington will play Keats, a young alien with a mysterious backstory.
3. Ghosts holiday specials

At San Diego Comic-Con 2026 on July 24, Ghosts showrunners Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, as well as series stars Utkarsh Ambudkar (Jay), Asher Grodman (Trevor), and Román Zaragoza (Sasappis), previewed the upcoming sixth season of the popular CBS sitcom. Also presented was a fresh look at the upcoming new CBS comedy Eternally Yours.
While Ghosts won’t return until the midseason point of the Fall 2026 primetime season, fans will be treated to a pair of hourlong Halloween and Christmas specials prior to the Season 6 premiere.
“In the Halloween special … we’re gonna meet Hetty’s sister, her mustachioed sister Margaret, who’s been referenced several times in the show,” Wiseman said at the SDCC panel.
According to Port, the Ghosts Christmas special is inspired by Die Hard, the iconic action movie (and arguable Christmas classic).
Season 6 of Ghosts, which will feature the show’s 100th episode, is expected to premiere in 2027.
4. Eternally Yours premiere date

And there’s more good news for fans of supernatural comedies: It was announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2026 that the upcoming CBS comedy series Eternally Yours, from the creators of Ghosts, will premiere on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 8:30 PM ET/PT. The show will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+.
Eternally Yours is a half-hour comedy centered on Charles (Ed Weeks) and Liz (Allegra Edwards), vampires living in present-day Seattle – and stuck in a stale, 500-year marriage. Their status quo gets a shakeup, however, when they meet Max (Jaren Lewison), the human boyfriend of their daughter, Emma (Helen J. Shen).
5. Clash of The Thundermans premiere date

Fans of The Thundermans, there’s something for you here, as well. At San Diego Comic-Con 2026, it was revealed that the new feature-length film Clash of The Thundermans, based on the hit Nickelodeon live-action superhero comedy series, will premiere on Nickelodeon and Paramount+ on Thursday, Sept. 3.
Modern Family alum Ariel Winter plays Cognita in the new film. She joins original cast members, including Kira Kosarin (Phoebe), Jack Griffo (Max), Maya Le Clark (Chloe), Diego Velazquez (Billy), Addison Riecke (Nora), Chris Tallman (Hank), and Rosa Blasi (Barb).
Clash of The Thundermans follows Chloe as she develops a new and unpredictable superpower, causing the Hero League to demand they send her away to a superhero boarding school to learn to control it.
Need to catch up on the Thundermans franchise? Paramount+ is the home for all four seasons of the original hit show, as well as the show The Thundermans Undercover, and the 2024 feature-length adventure The Thundermans Return.
