Jan Maxwell (Senator Ella Pollack in BRAINDEAD) Jan Maxwell is a theater actress who has been nominated for five Tony Awards and won two Drama Desk Awards. Her extensive theater credits include “The City of Conversation” at Lincoln Center Theatre, for which she won the Drama Desk Award and received nominations from Lucille Lortel, Outer Critics Circle and the Drama League. On Broadway, she starred as Phyllis in Stephen Sondheim’s “Follies,” which also won her a Drama Desk Award, as well as Tony Award, Outer Critics Circle, Drama League and Helen Hayes nominations. Other Broadway theater credits include “Lend Me A Tenor,” “The Royal Family,” “Coram Boy,” “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,” “Sixteen Wounded,” “A Doll's House,” “The Sound of Music,” “The Dinner Party,” “Dancing at Lughnasa” and “City of Angels.” Off-Broadway she starred in Second Stage’s revival of Arthur Kopit’s “Wings,” “Scenes From an Execution,” “Camille,” “Substitution,” “Entertaining Mr. Sloane,” “The Bald Soprano,” “A Bad Friend,” “My Old Lady,” “Opening Doors,” “House and Garden” and “The Seagull.” Jan Maxwell’s television credits include the movies “Billie & Billie,” “The Divide” and “AIDS: Changing the Rules,” and guest-starring roles on the series “Law & Order” and “Gossip Girl.” Born in Fargo, North Dakota, Maxwell resides in New York City. Her birthday is Nov. 20.
