Who is in the Season 6 cast?
Here’s a quick look at the starring cast of Ghosts from Seasons 1-5:
Rose McIver as Samantha

Rose McIver plays Samantha (or Sam) in Ghosts. After a near-death fall, Sam gains the ability to see and hear the ghosts of Woodstone, becoming their main link to the living world. She and Jay spend their days running the B&B while Sam serves as translator, mediator, and occasional therapist for the friendly spirits.
Utkarsh Ambudkar as Jay

Utkarsh Ambudkar portrays Jay in Ghosts. Jay doesn’t see any of the ghosts, but he’s just as invested in keeping Woodstone afloat as Sam is. Between running the kitchen and co-owning the B&B, his patience gets put through the wringer pretty much every episode.
The Woodstone ghosts

The mansion’s ensemble of ghosts is one of Ghosts‘ biggest strengths, each spirit bringing their own era, personality, and unfinished business to Woodstone.
The returning ghosts include:
- Brandon Scott Jones as Captain Isaac Higgintoot
- Danielle Pinnock as Alberta Haynes
- Richie Moriarty as Pete
- Rebecca Wisocky as Hetty Woodstone
- Sheila Carrasco as Flower
- Asher Grodman as Trevor
- Román Zaragoza as Sasappis
- Devan Chandler Long as Thorfinn
Ben Feldman plays Kyle, a recurring character promoted to series regular for Season 6 with the same ghost-visibility affliction as Sam.
Where does Season 5 leave off?

WARNING! Season 5 spoilers ahead.
In the Season 5 finale of Ghosts, Mayor Tad (Justin Kirk) sells his stake in the mansion to a shady water company with plans to bulldoze the place for a data center, Sam and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) race to get Woodstone declared a historical landmark. With help from the ghosts (including some surprisingly resourceful tactics from Farhang Ghajar’s Amunhotep), they pull it off, and the mansion is saved.
But the win comes at a cost. While Jay and Kyle (Ben Feldman) were overseas tracking down the proof needed to save Woodstone, Pete (Richie Moriarty) wandered too far from the property line for too long and faded away completely. Whether (and how) Pete makes it back is one of the biggest questions heading into Season 6, along with what’s in store for the mysterious group known only as the Others.

FAQ
Is Ghosts based on another show?
Yes. Ghosts is based on a BBC sitcom of the same name, which shares the same premise of a couple inheriting a house haunted by ghosts from different eras. All episodes of Ghosts UK are now streaming on Paramount+.
Do I need to watch previous seasons first?
It helps, but it’s not required. Ghosts mixes ongoing storylines, like Woodstone’s financial struggles and Sam and Jay’s relationship, with plenty of standalone, episode-specific moments. New viewers can jump in without too much trouble, but starting from Season 1 will be best if you are interested in seeing the full arc of each character and how the Woodstone household came together in the first place.
