Five decades ago, Star Trek inspired its first generation of fans with themes of hope, diversity, and adventure. These messages have never faded, and as a result millions of people have dreamed a little bolder.

At San Diego Comic-Con 2016, art inspired by the beloved franchise was on display in the worldwide premiere of an exhibit called "50 Artists. 50 Years." Spanning a wide range of 2D and 3D mediums (including illustrations, photographs, sculptures, paintings, graphics, and more), the pieces extended Star Trek's timeless messages. The works also offered unique interpretations of various Star Trek eras and characters—and even Spock's eyes! Watch the video for a virtual tour and explanations of the works.

After you watch the video, we've got a bonus photo gallery featuring even more of the amazing Star Trek art from Comic-Con. The Star Trek 50th anniversary celebrations will continue all week at San Diego Comic-Con with panels and more.

Star Trek has returned with a new series, Star Trek: Discovery, exclusively on CBS All Access.

Stream the entire first season of Star Trek: Discovery, exclusively on CBS All Access.
