A graduate of the famed Opera department at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Reshma Shetty got her acting start in musical theater. Immediately after graduation, she took on the lead role of Priya in A.R. Rahman’s and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s first national tour of the Broadway musical “Bombay Dreams.” Her other theater credits include starring in The New Group’s Off-Broadway production of Ayub Khan-Din’s “Rafta Rafta.”

Shetty parlayed her theater experience into a career in television, most recently appearing in the series “Royal Pains” as one of series television’s first female South Asian leads. Her additional television credits include guest roles on “CSI: Miami,” on the Network, “30 Rock,” “Odd Mom Out” and “Happyish.” Her film credits include the feature “Allegiance.”

Shetty was one of the first faces of Cindy Crawford's “Meaningful Beauty” skin care line and works with various organizations dedicated to raising awareness to combat prejudice and discrimination. Some of her favorite organizations include Lend a Hand India and New York’s New Abolitionists. Most recently, Shetty partnered with Apne Aap Women Worldwide, a grassroots Indian organization dedicated to stopping sex trafficking. Working with the group gave her the opportunity to speak at the United Nations on the topic of empowering girls and women to prevent sex trafficking​.
