The teams, in alphabetical order, are:
Among countries, England is most represented in the field, with six teams (Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea, Newcastle, and Tottenham). Spain is next, with five (Athletic Club, Atlético Madrid, Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Villarreal).
Twenty-nine of the 36 clubs received automatic berths. The list of automatic qualifiers includes Tottenham, the reigning champ of the UEFA Europa League, and PSG, the 2024-2025 UCL titleholder.
The remaining seven teams – Benfica, Brugge, Copenhagen, Bodø/Glimt, Pafos, Kairat Almaty, and Qarabağ – punched their tickets for League Phase play via the UCL qualifying rounds.
League Phase play begins Tuesday, Sept. 16, and ends on Wednesday, Jan. 28, with a mega-finale featuring 18 matches (and, yes, all 36 teams in action) all kicking off simultaneously.
League Phase matchups were determined via a draw on Aug. 28. Highlights include a Man City-Real Madrid showdown on Wednesday, Dec. 10, and a Barcelona vs. PSG pairing on Wednesday, Oct. 1.
