New Shows on Paramount+ in June 2024

Mayor of Kingstown (Season 3)
From executive producers Taylor Sheridan and Antoine Fuqua, the third season of this original drama series finds a sequence of explosions rocking Kingstown and its citizens, as a new face of the Russian mob sets up shop in the city. A drug war is raging inside and outside prison walls, and the pressure is on Mike McLusky (Academy Award®-nominee Jeremy Renner) to end it. But things get complicated when a familiar face from McLusky’s incarcerated past threatens to undermine his attempts to keep the peace among all factions. Season 3 launched on June 2, 2024.

In addition to Renner, Mayor of Kingstown boasts an impressive ensemble cast that includes series regulars Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Emma Laird, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Nishi Munshi, Hamish Allan-Headley, and Michael Beach.

Criminal Minds: Evolution (new season premiere) (June 6)
The new, 10-episode season of Criminal Minds: Evolution will premiere with two episodes on Thursday, June 6. Subsequent new episodes will drop weekly on Thursdays.

In the wake of last season’s shocking finale, this season finds the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) investigating the deadly mystery of GOLD STAR, a phrase connected to a powerful secret. As the conspiracy unfolds, the team is met with an unexpected complication when serial killer Elias Voit negotiates a deal that transfers him to federal custody in the BAU’s own backyard. The team faces its biggest threat yet and cannot emerge unscathed from the mind-bending consequences.

Criminal Minds: Evolution stars Joe Mantegna, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, Zach Gilford, and Ryan-James Hatanaka, with Adam Rodriguez and Paget Brewster. Previously announced guest stars include Clark Gregg, Felicity Huffman, Paul F. Tompkins, Tuc Watkins, and Brian White.

Transformers: EarthSpark (Season 2 premiere) (June 7)
The second season of Transformers: EarthSpark introduces new adventures to the Transformers robots and the humans that care for them. The Emberstone has shattered, and it’s a race against the Decepticons to find all the pieces, as limitless power will be at the fingertips of whoever holds the artifact. Amidst the chaos, Robby meets someone special, Mo uncovers an ancient secret in Witwicky, and the Terrans level up. Together, the Malto family and the Autobots discover how far they must go to defend what they love.

Transformers: EarthSpark stars Sydney Mikayla as Robby Malto, Zion Broadnax as Mo Malto, Benni Latham as Dot Malto, Jon Jon Briones as Alex Malto, Kathreen Khavari as Twitch, Zeno Robinson as Thrash, Danny Pudi as Bumblebee, Alan Tudyk as Optimus Prime, Rory McCann as Megatron, Cissy Jones as Elita-1, Diedrich Bader as Mandroid, Cyrus Arnold as Jawbreaker, Z Infante as Nightshade, and Stephanie Lemelin as Hashtag.
Joining the cast this season are guest stars "Weird Al" Yankovic as Cosmos, Zelda Williams as Spitfire, Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea as Aftermath, and Richard Ayoade as Fairmaestro. All nine episodes drop June 7.

How Music Got Free (June 11)
From executive producers Marshall “Eminem” Mathers, LeBron James, Maverick Carter, Paul Rosenberg, and Steve Stoute, and directed by Alexandria Stapleton, the captivating true-crime docuseries How Music Got Free details the fascinating, often funny story behind the tech-driven disruption that changed music during the late-90s and early-2000s. During that time, file-sharing technology, combined with the insatiable demand for new music, created both the means and the motive for millions of young people to participate in outright theft – and be celebrated for it.

From New York City, to Los Angeles, to the small factory town of Shelby, North Carolina, How Music Got Free features the quirky genius of the heretofore-unknown “pirates,” the drama of the FBI investigations and convictions, and the frontline accounts of music’s biggest artists and executives. An unbelievable story of cunning, illegality, celebrity, and innovation, these are the events that changed the music industry forever. Narrated by Method Man, the two-part series features interviews with Eminem, 50 Cent, Timbaland, Jimmy Iovine, Rocsi Diaz, Rhymefest, Steve Stoute, Steve Berman, and more.

Chopper Cops (June 18)
This docuseries takes viewers into the cockpit of an elite Florida police team of helicopter pilots as they attack crime from the skies. In 10 half-hour episodes, Chopper Cops showcases the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, a group of men and women with a jurisdiction larger than the state of Rhode Island. Since the 1,600 square-mile area they patrol features more than 7,000 crime scenes a year, the department requires a secret weapon.

That weapon comes in the form of state-of-the-art helicopters manned by elite police pilots. Known as Air One, or chopper cops, these pilots are equipped with high-tech infrared cameras and augmented-reality mapping capabilities that allow law enforcement on the ground to see in the dark. Because their equipment allows them to detect where perpetrators are located, as well as whether they’re armed, they guide the SWAT team with vital, instantaneous information.

The heart-pounding stories on Chopper Cops are brought to vivid life through in-chopper cameras, radio transmissions, and gripping first-person interviews with law enforcement.

Star Trek: Discovery (Season 5)

Discovery crew uncover a mystery that will send the group on an epic adventure across the galaxy to find an ancient power whose very existence has been deliberately hidden for centuries. But there are others on the hunt for this power as well – dangerous foes desperate to claim the prize for themselves, and willing to stop at nothing to get it.

Alongside Sonequa Martin-Green (Captain Michael Burnham), the fifth season includes cast members Doug Jones (Saru), Anthony Rapp (Paul Stamets), Mary Wiseman (Sylvia Tilly), Wilson Cruz (Dr. Hugh Culber), David Ajala (Cleveland “Book” Booker), Blu del Barrio (Adira) and Callum Keith Rennie (Rayner). The season also features recurring guest stars Elias Toufexis (L’ak) and Eve Harlow (Moll). All episodes are now streaming.

Recently Premiered on Paramount+

The Chi (Season 6 Part 2)
Created and executive produced by Emmy®-winner Lena Waithe, The Chi is a timely coming-of-age story about a group of residents living on the South Side of Chicago who become linked by coincidence, but bonded by the need for connection and redemption. The series had a record-breaking Season 6 premiere followed by seven more thrilling episodes that sent its characters careening between the highest highs and lowest lows.

The first half of Season 6 of The Chi focused on Emmett (Jacob Latimore) as he struggled to balance his blended union to Kiesha (Birgundi Baker) with his perilous partnership with Douda (Curtiss Cook) – who, in turn, was dealing with the fallout of Q’s murder and its effect on his inner circle. Meanwhile, Victor (Luke James) worried that his past was starting to impact his new role as city councilman, while newlyweds Jada (Yolonda Ross) and Darnell (Rolando Boyce) feared for their son Emmett after watching him make a desperate, life-threatening move. The cannabis business of Rob and Tiff (Iman Shumpert and Hannaha Hall, respectively), as well as the apparel line founded by Jake (Michael V. Epps), began to thrive, while Maisha (Genesis Denise Hale) fought to get her own career off the ground despite the divided attentions of her manager, Jemma (Judae’a Brown). And Papa (Shamon Brown, Jr.) grappled with the senseless loss of his beloved father.

The second half of the season promises that danger lies in wait, that no one is safe – and that every single character will be tested as never before.

Season 6 guest stars include Emmy® winner Lynn Whitfield, Jill Marie Jones, Kandi Burruss, La La Anthony, Vic Mensa, Carolyn Michelle Smith, Jason Weaver, Iman Shumpert, Nia Jervier, L’lerrét Jazelle, Ahmad Ferguson, Joel Steingold, Miriam A. Hyman, Tyla Abercrumbie, Tai Davis, and Tory O. Davis.

Please note: All episodes of The Chi are available to stream on Paramount+ with the Paramount+ with SHOWTIME® plan only.

Evil (Season 4)
In the fourth and final season of this fan-favorite and critically acclaimed Paramount+ original series, the investigative trio of Kristen (Katja Herbers), David (Mike Colter), and Ben (Aasif Mandvi) assesses supernatural cases that include incidents with wayward technology, possessed pigs, demonic oppression and infestation, a dance muse conjured by alleged witches, and an evil relic. Throughout, the devious Dr. Leland Townsend (Michael Emerson) attempts to lure Kristen into raising a baby antichrist who was conceived with her ovum. David, meanwhile, is recruited by the Vatican’s secret service for his ability to detect evil, while Ben is hit by an ion beam that causes him to see visions of a taunting jinn. In the midst of all this, the parish decides to disband the team due to a lack of funds, culminating in one last confrontation with Leland and the 60 families that make up evil in the modern world.

Along with Herbers, Colter, Mandvi, and Emerson, the series stars Kurt Fuller, Andrea Martin, Christine Lahti, Brooklyn Shuck, Skylar Gray, Maddy Crocco, and Dalya Knapp.
