Watch the Jackass movies on Paramount+
It’s been 26 years since Jackass premiered on MTV. Born from the brains of Jeff Tremaine, Spike Jonze (Being John Malkovich, Her), and Johnny Knoxville, the show, filled with chaotic stunts, extreme slapstick comedy, and “do not try this at home” behavior, kept us coming back for more every episode. The show evolved from something you watch from the living-room couch, to something bigger and better.
The franchise’s big-screen era started in 2002 with the release of Jackass: The Movie. Four more theatrical movies followed, and now those first five movies are streaming on Paramount+.
Relive the early aughts by watching these outrageous features. It’s the perfect way to get ready for Jackass: Best and Last, the new movie coming to theatres on Friday, June 26, 2026. Read on to learn how to watch the movies, what they’re about, and more.

How many movies are there?
Currently, there are five Jackass theatrical movies, released over a 20-year span, from 2002 to 2022. A sixth Jackass movie, Jackass: Best and Last, will be released in theatres on Friday, June 26, 2026.
Here’s a look at the five Jackass movies in order of their release:
Jackass: The Movie

This was the OG movie, the first time the crew decided to take the shenanigans of the television show and supersize them for the silver screen. We all won because of it. The 2002 film begins with the group riding a gigantic shopping cart downhill toward a fruit stand, and the movie’s momentum (and mayhem) only accelerates from there.

Jackass Number Two

The second time around, pranks only get louder, grosser, and more unhinged (to their creators’ immense credit).

Jackass 3

Released in theatres as Jackass 3D, this 2010 movie features a scene in which prankster Steve-O is attached by bungee cords to a porta-potty. Dig this visual? You’ll dig the whole movie. Plus, Jackass 3.5 The Movie (2011) is also streaming on Paramount+ for another dose of mayhem.

Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa

Hidden cameras, comedic disguises, and Catherine Keener (of Being John Malkovich fame). A little bit of everything, and none of it normal – just as Jackass fans like it. Need more family time? Paramount+ is also the home of Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa.5 Unrated.

Jackass Forever

After 20 years, you would think the crew would be in too much pain to keep going, but they choose madness anyway. Join them, won’t you?

What Jackass is about
Jackass, at its core, is about friendship, the bond between a group of guys who love skate culture, practical jokes, and each other’s company. This crew just happened to turn their brand of buddyhood into a special kind of performance art piece – one that uniquely blended gross-out humor and stunt-show antics. This crazy creation of theirs, a show about the pain-inducing pranks these pals would play on one another and unknowing passersby, became an MTV reality television juggernaut for three seasons. (Fun fact: The iconic episodes of Jackass Seasons 1-3 have been restored to their original versions, as first aired, and are now streaming on Paramount+.)
The Jackass series laid the groundwork for the five feature films now streaming on Paramount+, and that core Jackass recipe of friendship, fun, and foolishness has continued to serve the creators’ well: the movies have grossed over $400 million worldwide.
Cast and crew
The familiar faces of the Jackass crew are:
- Johnny Knoxville (also one of the creators)
- Bam Margera
- Steve-O
- Chris Pontius
- Wee Man
There are also many talented humans working behind the camera in order to bring the Jackass series and the subsequent Jackass films to life:
- Jeff Tremaine, co-creator of the show, as well as the director of every film in the franchise. He’s also a producer – not only of the Jackass franchise, but also of its offshoots Rob & Big and Ridiculousness
- Spike Jonze, an Oscar winner who started his career as a skateboard and BMX photographer, makes up the other half of the show’s creator/producer duo, and has also served as a producer and “character” in the films.
Why the franchise still holds up
The original fans of the franchise (as well as the cast and crew) have grown up, but the pranks don’t age a bit. Watching the franchise expand is an invigorating experience because, as the cast gets older, the stunts get bigger, the budgets get higher, and diehard fans bring new viral-video-hungry generations along for the ride, resulting in a massive fanbase that can’t get enough of the Jackass brand of comedy. Nothing is slowing down in the world of Johnny Knoxville and co. This is a franchise that just keeps on going, and keeps on generating new viewers.
The Jackass movies are perfect pieces of early aughts nostalgia to share with younger generations. This franchise holds up because physical comedy has no age limit, and connecting to fellow movie-lovers by laughing at other people’s expense (people who voluntarily signed up for the privilege, mind you!) never gets old.
Stream the Jackass movies on Paramount+
You can stream the first five Jackass movies, plus the recently restored original Jackass TV episodes, on Paramount+ with a subscription. Extreme binge viewing is absolutely encouraged, but as always, do not try any of the stunts at home. Just stream the wackiness from the comfort of your sofa instead.
