Heading into play, the Chiefs are looking to rebound from an off season, and expecting star quarterback Patrick Mahomes to return to form after his 2025 campaign was cut short by a knee injury. In the offseason, the Chiefs remade their running game by signing former Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker, and brought back newlywed Travis Kelce on a one-year deal. Kansas City also traded defensive back Trent McDuffie to the Rams.

How to watch Chiefs games live

You can watch Chiefs games live on a variety of channels and services, including CBS and Paramount+. During the 2026 season, the NFL on CBS is set to carry nine Chiefs games. (Please note: CBS Sports counts TBD Week 18 AFC matchups in its count of total team appearances.)

When scheduled in your area, NFL on CBS Chiefs games can be watched live on: 

  1. Your local CBS TV station using cable, satellite, digital antenna, or live-TV streaming service; and, 
  2. Paramount+ with a subscription (any plan). 

How to stream Chiefs games live

You can stream Chiefs games live on Paramount+ when: 

  1. The Chiefs game is aired on your local CBS TV station; and, 
  2. You have a Paramount+ subscription (any plan). 

On game day, log into your Paramount+ account on your device, smart TV, or browser, or get started with a subscription. (Plans start at $8.99 a month.) The Paramount+ app is available on the Apple App Store or Google Play, and once you’ve downloaded it, you can stream everything Paramount+ offers (40,000 episodes and movies – plus, of course, live NFL action) from your phone, tablet, smart TV, or device.

Chiefs schedule 2026

The 2026 Chiefs schedule features 17 regular-season games, and one bye. Highlights include a Thanksgiving Day battle with the Bills, and a Thursday night showdown with the Rams in Week 13

Frequently asked questions about watching Chiefs games 

Can I watch Chiefs on CBS and Paramount+? 

Yes. When scheduled, and when airing on your local CBS TV station, you can watch the Chiefs on CBS and Paramount+. Currently, NFL on CBS is scheduled to present eight Chiefs games during the 2026 season.  

Do I need cable to watch Chiefs? 

The answer as to whether you need cable to watch the Chiefs is: Not necessarily. When Chiefs games are presented by the NFL on CBS, and carried by your local CBS station, then, no, you don’t need cable. You can watch those games on your TV using a digital antenna, satellite service, or live-TV streaming service. And when you subscribe to Paramount+, you can stream those games live on your smart TV or device. 

You also don’t need cable when Chiefs games are carried by ABC/ESPN, FOX, and/or NBC/Peacock. Those games can be watched on local TV stations using a digital antenna, satellite service, or live-TV streaming service, or by streaming them on the companion streaming service (i.e., Peacock for NBC games). 

Chiefs games, if any, carried by NFL Network can be watched using satellite service or live-TV streaming service, and Chiefs games, if any, carried by Netflix or Prime can be watched on those streaming services (with subscriptions). Additionally, if the Chiefs are your local-market team, then Chiefs games presented by the NFL Network, Netflix, and Prime, can be watched, using a digital antenna, satellite service, or live-TV streaming service, on the Chiefs’ local broadcast-TV affiliate.
