When are Carabao Cup matches?

Carabao Cup matches take place throughout the English soccer season, beginning with the opening rounds and continuing through the semifinals and final. The competition follows a knockout format, with winning clubs advancing through successive rounds toward the semifinals and final.

The remaining matches in the third round are scheduled for Sept. 15-17. The fourth round is set to begin Oct. 26. The quarterfinals starts Dec. 14. The first leg of the semifinals kicks off on Jan. 11, 2027, while the second leg is set for Feb. 1, 2027. The final will be played on March 21, 2027.

What is the Carabao Cup?

The Carabao Cup is a knockout soccer competition organized by the English Football League (EFL). It is also known as the EFL Cup.

The tournament features clubs from the Premier League and the EFL’s three divisions: the Championship, League One, and League Two. Clubs advance by winning knockout matches until two teams remain to compete in the final.

Which teams play in the Carabao Cup?

The Carabao Cup features clubs from the Premier League, Championship, League One, and League Two.

That gives teams throughout England’s top four divisions an opportunity to compete in the same knockout tournament. The field narrows after each round as winning clubs advance and losing clubs are eliminated.

When is the Carabao Cup final?

The Carabao Cup final is the last match of the English Football League’s knockout competition, with the two remaining clubs competing for the cup. The winner of the Carabao Cup qualifies for the UEFA Conference League. 

The final is set for March 21, 2027, at Wembley Stadium in London.
