In the FBI Season 8 finale (“Defector”), OA is apparently fired by Assistant Director in Charge Lawrence Green (Curtis Cook) for protesting the cover-up of a virus outbreak, which ultimately positions him to go undercover against Anna Vorpe (Claire Coffee) and her strike team. Showrunner Mike Weiss has indicated OA will operate in a different capacity when Season 9 begins rather than simply returning to business as usual. Season 9 is therefore expected to open with the team’s normal dynamics disrupted, particularly Maggie and OA’s partnership. Zeeko Zaki remains part of the series.
