Big Brother will air its 1,000th original episode on Thursday, Aug. 27, on CBS. The 90-minute episode will stream on Paramount+ (live for Paramount+ Premium subscribers and on-demand the next day for all subscribers), and feature a live eviction, the BB Blockbuster, appearances from former Houseguests, fan votes, and a new Season 28 twist.

When is the 1,000th episode?

The 1,000th episode of Big Brother airs Thursday, Aug. 27. The episode comes during Season 28 – 26 years after Big Brother premiered in 2000. That’s 26 years of iconic Houseguests, wacky competitions, diary-room tears, shocking evictions, and game-changing twists. 

The milestone also celebrates 26 years with host Julie Chen Moonves. Fans have loved every “But first,” and fashionable ‘fit along the way. (Fun fact: Only one other reality show host has held their position this long: another CBS mainstay, Survivor’s Jeff Probst.) 

How to watch the 1,000th episode

You can watch the 1,000th episode of Big Brother on CBS and stream it on Paramount+.

And, of course, fans can watch the Big Brother live feeds on Paramount+ all summer, all season long.

Subscribers to the Paramount+ Premium plan can stream the episode live through their local CBS affiliate on Paramount+. To watch on show night, start your Paramount+ Premium plan subscription, and/or log into your account, and navigate to Live TV. There, you’ll watch the episode via the feed of your local station.  

Paramount+ subscribers of any tier can stream the episode on demand beginning the next day.

The milestone episode will run for 90 minutes and include the latest Season 28 live eviction. It’s truly a perfect episode to mark the occasion, as viewers will see strategy, drama, a BB Blockbuster comp, a live vote, and a post-eviction interview with Julie Chen-Moonves. Fans won’t want to miss a minute, as CBS has surprises in store to celebrate – including appearances by fan-favorite past Houseguests. Anyone from Chicken George (George Allen Boswell from Season 1) to Season 27 winner Ashley Hollis could pop in.

What happens in the 1,000th episode?

The 1,000th episode will feature surprise appearances from former Houseguests selected through interactive fan votes. The episode will also look back at moments from the show’s 26-year run.

Season 28 gameplay will continue during the episode with the BB Blockbuster and a live Houseguest eviction. Additionally, CBS says the episode will also kick off the biggest twist of the summer. Additional details about the twist have not been announced, so you’ll have to watch to find out.

Why is the 1,000th episode historic?

With its 1,000th original episode, Big Brother becomes the first primetime television series to reach the 1,000-episode milestone.

Julie Chen Moonves has hosted Big Brother since Season 1 in 2000. Over the years, the series has featured hundreds of Houseguests, including the Season 28 cast, competing through Head of Household competitions, Power of Veto competitions, nominations, evictions, and more.
