The explosive Landman cast blew us away (no pun intended) in Season 1, portraying characters who combine swaggering oil-patch grit, backroom power plays, and just enough family drama to make it hit close to home. And you know what didn’t let us down? Landman Season 2, which drops its finale on Sunday. The show’s cast has been all about delivering even more drama.
Read on for our guide to the Landman cast, from the returning Season 2 stars to the show’s new faces (Sam Elliott!). (And then go ahead and get excited for Season 3.)
Spoiler alert: Key plot points from Landman Season 1 will be discussed. Proceed with caution, and/or binge-watch the first season now.
Who’s in the Landman cast?
In the Paramount+ original drama Landman, Billy Bob Thornton leads the all-star cast as Tommy Norris, a sharp-tongued fixer whose drawl and scrappy wit are all that stands between M-Tex and the chaos closing in. The Taylor Sheridan show also currently stars Demi Moore, Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph (1923), Jacob Lofland, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, James Jordan, and Mark Collie.
Colm Feore and Andy Garcia, both of whom made guest appearances in Season 1, joined the Season 2 regular cast. Also moving into Landman, as of Season 2: Sam Elliott. In addition to being an iconic star, Elliott is a familiar face in the Sheridan universe. He stars in the Yellowstone origin story 1883, where he shares the screen with … Thornton. (In 1883, Thornton guest stars as a city marshal in the episode, “Behind Us, a Cliff,” and, yes, as you’ll learn here, Sheridan stars have a habit of appearing in multiple Sheridan shows.)
How stellar is the Landman Season 2 cast? The stars would practically make up their own row at the Academy Awards®. Thornton is an Oscar® winner; Moore, Garcia, and Elliott are all Oscar® nominees.
And it’s a good thing the Landman cast is so seasoned – their characters have a lot on their plates. Previously, as they say, on Landman … In the Season 1 closer, Tommy is thrust into the top spot at M-Tex after Monty (Emmy® winner Jon Hamm) passes away. However, this promotion feels more like a curse than a reward as he and Monty’s widow Cami (Moore) strike a tense deal, where it’s decided the company will cover the costs for drilling on land it doesn’t own, then split the profits with the landowners. The deal could hit big … or it could bust the whole company.
Before Tommy can settle into his new role, he’s kidnapped and brutalized by cartel members, only to be pulled out of the fire (literally) by a mysterious power broker, played by Garcia. Beaten and dazed, Tommy stumbles home to a new (yet oddly familiar) family dynamic where he has seemingly reunited with his eccentric ex-wife (Larter).
Who are the Landman Season 2 new regular cast members?
Landman Season 2 stacked its roster with new cast members who can hold their own alongside Billy Bob Thornton. These new additions raised the stakes in the battle for money and power in West Texas …
Sam Elliott as T.L.

Elliott joins the Landman Season 2 cast in a regular-series role as T.L., Tommy’s father.
Where you’ve seen him: Where haven’t you seen him? Elliott’s screen career dates back to the 1960s. His considerable credits include Lifeguard (1976), The Big Lebowski (1998), and Hulk (2003). He picked up his first career Oscar® nomination for the 2018 Bradley Cooper-led remake of A Star Is Born. He played Virgil Earp (Wyatt’s brother) in Tombstone (1993), and has starred in several Western drama shows, including 1883.
Colm Feore as Nathan

Though new to the regular cast, Feore is no stranger to Landman fans. His Nathan was a steady presence in Season 1. He returns as the loyal and capable member of the M-Tex legal team. Nathan quietly handles the legal day-to-day challenges of the job.
Where you’ve seen him: Feore’s credits include Chicago (2002), Thor (2011), and the shows House of Cards and The Umbrella Academy.
Andy Garcia as Gallino

We get a brief look at Garcia’s Gallino in the Landman Season 1 finale, “The Crumbs of Hope,” when his cartel-boss character saves Tommy (to help further his own interests, as it turns out).
Where you’ve seen him: Seriously? Where do we start … Garcia has delivered iconic performances in films such as Ocean’s Eleven (2001), Internal Affairs (1990), and The Godfather Part III (1990). The latter film rated him an Oscar® nomination for his role as Vincent Mancini, the illegitimate son of Michael Corleone who comes to rule the Corleone crime family.
Who are the returning cast members from Landman Season 1?
Good news: Most of the cast members from Landman Season 1 returned for Landman Season 2.
Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris

When asked once what a landman is, Thornton said, “A landman is exhausted all the time.” He wasn’t kidding. Facing cartel threats, a powerful new role within M-Tex, and a turbulent family life, the stakes for Thornton’s Tommy can’t be any higher in Season 2.
Where you’ve seen him: Thornton made his name with Sling Blade, the 1996 film he wrote, directed, and starred in, earning the Oscar® for best adapted screenplay. Since then, he’s starred in box-office favorites (Armageddon, Friday Night Lights), and played everything from a crooked mall Santa in Bad Santa (2003) to a chilling hitman in the TV version of Fargo.
Fun fact: Portions of Landman take place in Permian, Texas, the same town featured in Thornton’s Friday Night Lights.
Demi Moore as Cami Miller

If you hoped to see more of Moore in Landman Season 1, you’re getting your wish in Landman Season 2. Moore is front and center as the widow of Monty Miller, the former head of M-Tex. This, after Cami emerges at the end of Season 1 to cut a deal on a farm-out lease agreement, a gamble that will either make her a billionaire – or leave her with nothing.
Where you’ve seen her: Moore became one of the biggest box-office stars of the 1990s with hits such as Ghost (1990), A Few Good Men (1992), and Indecent Proposal (1993). She landed her first Oscar® nomination for her fearless turn in the 2024 body-horror film The Substance.
Ali Larter as Angela Norris

Larter’s Cami may just be the Landman MVP. Tommy’s ex-wife is a larger-than-life character who keeps the drama from getting too dramatic. By the end of Season 1, she has to face the hard truth that getting back with Tommy isn’t just about love; it means stepping back into the chaos, danger, and moral compromises of his world.
Where you’ve seen her: Larter became a TV staple with her dual roles on Heroes. Her film credits include Final Destination (2000) and Resident Evil (2002).
Fun fact: Ali is no stranger to Texas high school football thanks to her turn as whipped-cream enthusiast Darcy in Varsity Blues (1999).
Jacob Lofland as Cooper Norris

In Landman Season 2, Lofland returns as Cooper Norris, Tommy’s son. Cooper starts out as an eager hand on an M-Tex drilling team. Despite moments of uncertainty, Cooper grows steadily, showing flashes of moral judgment that set him apart from the ruthlessness that surrounds him. By the time Season 1 comes to a close, he’s striking out on his own, aiming to push the oil business into riskier territory while maximizing profit.
Where you’ve seen him: At just 16, Lofland turned heads as the scrappy Neckbone in Mud (2012), holding his own alongside Matthew McConaughey. Since then, he’s appeared in Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015) and Joker: Folie à Deux (2024).
Paulina Chávez as Ariana

Chávez is back as the young widow and mother whose life is ripped apart after losing her husband, Elvio (Alejandro Akara), in a tragic oil field explosion. Landman Season 1 ends with Ariana navigating the complexities of mourning her lost love while forming a deep connection with Cooper Norris, the sole survivor of the incident.
Where you’ve seen her: Chávez is best known for her breakout role as the titular Ashley in the series, The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia.
Michelle Randolph as Ainsley Norris

Randolph returns as Tommy’s teen daughter. Her Ainsley learned some tough lessons in Landman Season 1. After being made to feel less-than by her football phenom ex-boyfriend, she took steps toward becoming a responsible and ambitious woman, even undertaking a rehabilitation project at the Midland’s senior center. Although, we’re not sure we condone taking nursing home residents to a strip club …
Where you’ve seen her: Remember that Taylor Sheridan connection we mentioned earlier? Michelle plays Elizabeth Stratton alongside Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren in the Yellowstone origin story from Sheridan, 1923.
Kayla Wallace as Rebecca Falcone

Wallace returns to Landman as the ambitious liability lawyer who comes into Tommy’s world when she’s hired to tie up the loose ends from the tragic oil-field explosion. By the end of Season 1, Rebecca is M-Tex’s vice president of exploration. It’s not necessarily a dream job: Rebecca doesn’t trust Tommy, and the fracking operation the company is setting up goes against her personal beliefs.
Where you’ve seen her: Well, we probably don’t have to tell the Hearties, but Wallace has been an upstanding citizen of Hope Valley as Fiona Miller through parts of seven seasons in the Canadian period drama When Calls the Heart.
Mark Collie as Sheriff Walt Joeberg

Collie is back as the sheriff who walks a tightrope between upholding the law and appeasing the oil company. And with every infraction Walt is encouraged to ignore, it’s clear the company has more sway than he’d like to admit.
Where you’ve seen him: Joeberg has appeared in the films The Punisher (2004), and Fire Down Below (1997). He had a recurring role in the TV drama Nashville.
James Jordan as Dale Bradley

Jordan returns to Landman as the no-nonsense petroleum engineer, who doubles as Tommy’s longtime friend. A landman at M-Tex Oil, Dale shares a home with Tommy, Nathan, and Tommy’s daughter Ainsley … with whom he unexpectedly (and painfully) encounters in the shower.
Where you’ve seen him: So, about that Taylor Sheridan connection again … Jordan plays Two Cups in the Sheridan-created Paramount+ original Lioness.
Did you know? As with Landman, all episodes of Lioness stream exclusively on Paramount+. The Taylor Sheridan Collection on Paramount+ features all these shows and more.
