Who’s fighting in UFC 325?

UFC 325 is stacked – a 14-fight fight card highlighted by the featherweight title fight between champ Alexander Volkanovski and No. 2-ranked division fighter Diego Lopes.
The top-of-the-card bout will mark Volkanovski’s first defense of the belt he claimed over Lopes in a vacant title fight at UFC 314. The Aussie Volkanovski (27-4-0 career MMA record) earned the unanimous decision, but the fight, which went the five-round distance, was an all-out war. You owe it to yourself to check it out, and you can: UFC 314, like all UFC numbered events of the 2020s, starting with UFC 246, is now streaming on demand on Paramount+.
Lopes, meanwhile, a Brazilian fighter with a 27-7-0 record, comes into the rematch fresh from a win by second-round TKO over countryman Jean Silva at last September’s Noche UFC.
Volkanovski is a former semi-pro rugby player who’s won nearly half his bouts by knockouts. Lopes, by contrast, came to MMA via jiu-jitsu. Befitting his background, he’s basically got as many career wins by submission (12) as he does by KO (11).
Here are the fighters – and fights – backing up Volkanovski-Lopes 2 on the UFC 325 main card:
- Dan Hooker vs. Benoît Saint Denis: This lightweight bout is a clash between the vet Hooker (24-13-0), the division’s No. 6-ranked fighter who’s coming off a loss, and the rising talent Saint Denis (16-3-0), ranked eighth – and coming off a win.
- Rafael Fiziev vs. Mauricio Ruffy: This second lightweight bout of ranked fighters pits No. 9 Fiziev (13-4-0) against No. 14 Ruffy (12-2-0).
- Tai Tuivasa vs. Tallison Teixeira: Heavyweights collide as 32-year-old UFC vet Tuivasa (15-8-0) meets Dana White’s Contender Series alum Teixeira (8-1-0) in what promises to be a high-impact bout.
- Quillan Salkilld vs. Jamie Mullarkey: The third lightweight bout on the main card finds one Australian looking to build his UFC credentials – and one looking to burnish his legacy. Salkilld, with a 10-1-0 overall record, is 3-0 since making his UFC debut at UFC 312; Mullarkey (18-8-0), meanwhile, has been mixing it up in the Octagon since UFC 243.
