Originally based on Erik Axl Sund’s Swedish novel series, The Crow Girl series is set in vibrant and historic Bristol. Season 2 sees DCI Jeanette Kilburn (Eve Myles) continue the hunt for the killers of young male asylum seekers. The case takes a shocking new turn, with Jeanette unearthing more victims and more depravity, while psychotherapist Dr. Sophia Craven (Katherine Kelly) has a suspect in mind.

With the investigation growing darker, and time running out, Jeanette must face the terrifying truth to find their murderer. Blending psychological mystery with a chilling police serial killer hunt, The Crow Girl explores identity rooted in deep trauma, revealing manipulation and historical abuse as the case advances. 

What to know about Season 2

Season 2 picks up immediately where the first season ends, with Jeanette and Sophia wading their way through the investigation, as their elusive serial killer continues to target young asylum seekers. The case crashes wide open when a mummified body is discovered in a church wall, and a body is found in a freezer. The two are at first seemingly unconnected, a sinister connection between the two is soon revealed, adding urgency to an already demanding case.

Jeanette and Sophia’s relationship becomes increasingly close and emotionally charged, the case places their trust and judgement under strain. While the investigation leads them to discover a disturbing web of historic abuse and buried truths. With time running out, the stakes are higher and darker than they could’ve ever imagined.

Meet the cast

The Crow Girl cast are led by British television staple Eve Myles (Torchwood) reprising her role as the enigmatic DCI Jeanette Kilburn, and her award-winning co-star Katherine Kelly (Coronation Street), another well-known face across the British television landscape. 

Other returning cast members include Elliot Edusah (Hard Truths) as DC Mike Diliston, aiding DCI Jeanette Kilburn as she attempts to unravel the truth behind the grizzly murder case under the watchful eye of her superior, Superintendent Verity Pound played by Victoria Hamilton (The Crown). Danish Clara Rugaard (I Am Mother) returns as unstable and mysterious Victoria Burkeman, Dr Sophia’s former unstable patient.
