So, you’ve heard that there’s a new Taylor Sheridan drama series called The Madison coming to Paramount+. And you’ve gotten the memo that the show is set in Montana, and stars Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell. But you still have so many questions – burning questions like, “When does it premiere?” and “Where can I watch it?” and, most pressing, “What are Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell doing in Big Sky Country anyway?”
Well, there’s no need to hold your horses any longer. We’ve got everything you need to know about The Madison Season 1 right here, including cast information, release date, first-look photos, and much more.
What is The Madison about?
The Madison is a heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana.
A prestige drama with an all-star cast, including Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell, and cinematography that matches the best on the big screen, The Madison features storytelling unlike anything we’ve seen before from Taylor Sheridan.
Is The Madison a Yellowstone spinoff?
No, The Madison is not a Yellowstone spinoff. The Madison is an original new drama. The show’s central family, the Clyburns, are not connected to the Duttons, or the Dutton family tree.
Who is in The Madison cast?

The all-star cast of The Madison is led by Oscar® nominee Michelle Pfeiffer and Golden Globe® nominee Kurt Russell.
Though you probably know Pfeiffer from such film roles as Selina Kyle/Catwoman in Batman Returns, Elvira Hancock in 1983’s Scarface, and Velma Von Tussle in 2007’s Hairspray – not to mention her Oscar®-nominated performances in Dangerous Liaisons, The Fabulous Baker Boys, and Love Field – the actress has also made big waves on the small screen. She earned an Emmy® nomination for The Wizard of Lies. And she played Betty Ford in the historical anthology drama series, The First Lady, which premiered on SHOWTIME® in 2022.
Russell has forged a career that’s as vast as the Madison River Valley. A screen actor since he was a child, he’s a favorite of fans – and directors. He’s starred in a handful of John Carpenter films, including the 1981 dystopian classic Escape From New York, and the 1979 miniseries Elvis (which rated Russell an Emmy® nomination), and three Quentin Tarantino movies, including 2015’s The Hateful Eight. He earned a Golden Globe® nom for his work in the 1983 docudrama Silkwood, and soared into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Ego in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
The Madison‘s star power doesn’t end with Pfeiffer and Russell. Check out the full announced cast list below, as well as the role that each performer plays in the series.
