UFC 325 is on – and the main event is set, with featherweight champ Alexander Volkanovski putting his belt on the line against No. 2-ranked contender Diego Lopes. A rematch, the bout will come less than a year after Volkanovski and Lopes clashed in UFC 314.

What is UFC 325?

UFC 325 will be the second numbered UFC event of 2026, the second numbered UFC event of January (occurring just one week after UFC 324: Gaethje vs. Pimblett) – and the second numbered UFC event of the UFC-Paramount era.

The UFC-Paramount era begins Jan. 1, 2026. As part of it, UFC 325, from the early prelims to the main card, will stream live on Paramount+ for subscribers. There will be no pay-per-view component.

UFC 325 is set to take place on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney Olympic Park, located in New South Wales, Australia.

The UFC 325 fight card is scheduled to be headlined by a featherweight championship bout with champion Alexander Volkanovski defending his title against Diego Lopes. The main event is a rematch of the main card match from last April's UFC 314. Volkanovski won the previous meeting, scoring a unanimous decision over Lopes.

Who is Alexander Volkanovski?

Alexander Volkanovski is the reigning UFC featherweight champion – and, per no less than UFC.com, a future UFC Hall of Famer. The Aussie first claimed the UFC featherweight belt in 2019 at UFC 245. He lost it to Ilia Topuria at UFC 298, then, after Topuria moved up to the lightweight division (where he now reigns), Volkanovski regained it at UFC 314 in his battle against Diego Lopes. His career UFC record stands at 27-4-0, with 13 wins by knockout.

Who is Diego Lopes?

Diego Lopes is the No. 2-ranked UFC fighter in the featherweight division. Last April, at UFC 314, he lost his bid for the vacated featherweight title to Alexander Volkanovski. He rebounded with a TKO of Jean Silva at Noche UFC in September. The Brazilian-born fighter holds a career UFC record of 27-7-0, with 15 first-round finishes.

UFC 325 start time and full schedule

The full schedule for UFC 325 is to be announced. Start times for the event will follow UFC tradition – or, make that new UFC tradition. As of UFC 324, the main card will kick off at 9 PM, ET/6 PM, PT – an hour earlier than usual.
