Where did Tulsa King leave off before Season 4?

Warning: Spoilers ahead!

Dwight expanded his operation into the liquor business, but his plans brought new problems. The grudge-fueled Special Agent Musso (Kevin Pollak) confronted Dwight about his past and pressured him into working for the government. Musso eventually tasked Dwight with helping take down a bombmaker with the pseudonym Dexter Deacon (Dallas Roberts), also known as the Watchmaker.

Dwight also faced pressure from New York. Quiet Ray (James Russo) wanted a share of Dwight’s liquor business, while Bill Bevilaqua (Frank Grillo) warned that New York would demand its own cut. Dwight’s meeting with Quiet Ray ended in gunfire after the two argued over the business and Bevilaqua’s disappearance.

Meanwhile, Cal Thresher (Neal McDonough) ran for governor with Margaret’s (Dana Delaney) help. Dwight made it clear that he expected favors if Thresher won, while Margaret negotiated for a role in his administration. Thresher ultimately won the election.

Dwight also helped prevent an explosion at the Dunbar Grand Hotel after learning about the Watchmaker’s bomb. He later used information from the operation to secure a federal liquor permit from Musso, strengthening his growing business while leaving Musso with more leverage over him.

Behind the scenes, the turf war between Dwight and rival bourbon distiller Jeremiah Dunmire (Robert Patrick) comes to a head. Dwight saves his sister, Joanne (Annabella Sciorra), after Dunmire kidnaps her to blackmail Dwight into signing over the Montague Distillery. Taking revenge, Dwight tracks down Dunmire, ties him up, and sets him on fire. This is retribution not only for kidnapping his sister, but also for ordering the fiery hit on Theodore “Theo” Montague (Brett Rice).

That’s where Dwight and his crew stand as Tulsa King Season 4 begins.
