In NCIS: New York, Special Agent Sam Hanna (LL COOL J) returns to his hometown of New York City after the events of NCIS: Los Angeles. He joins the newly established New York Field Office of NCIS and is partnered with Special Agent Nick Schaeffer (Scott Caan).
The team’s mission is to protect one of the country’s busiest ports and to investigate naval and national security crimes. New York City itself will play a major role in the show, which is shot on location in New York.

LL COOL J as Sam Hanna
Sam Hanna is a returning NCIS: Los Angeles Special Agent and longtime fan favorite. In NCIS: New York, following the events of NCIS: Los Angeles, Hanna returns to his hometown of New York City and joins the newly established New York Field Office of NCIS.
Actor LL COOL J starred in all 14 seasons of NCIS: Los Angeles (from 2009 to 2023). He also appeared in the original NCIS and NCIS: Hawai’i. His return to the franchise is one of the biggest draws of NCIS: New York.
