What Yellowstone characters appear in Marshals?

There are several Yellowstone characters appearing in Marshals. Kayce Dutton and his son Tate have returned; Luke Grimes and Brecken Merrill, who play Kayce and Tate respectively, are series regulars on the show. Thomas Rainwater and his right-hand man Mo also hold important roles in the drama.

As for the rest of the Dutton clan, characters are mentioned, but have not made an appearance so far this season. Marshals is a continuation of Kayce’s Yellowstone journey, but a narratively independent show from Yellowstone.

Supporting cast & recurring roles

There are several familiar faces on the show you might want to get to know. Brett Cullen (The Dark Knight Rises, Ghost Rider, Person of Interest) has a recurring role as Harry Gifford, the head of Montana’s U.S. Marshals division, and a member of the sitting president’s cabinet. Gifford has a lot of concern about Kayce joining the team.

Two recurring guest stars fans will be introduced to are Dolly Weaver and Maddie. Dolly, played by Ellyn Jameson (Barry), is a daughter of a local rancher. Maddie, played by Morgan Lindholm (Truth or Dare, NOS4A2), is the bartender at the team’s favorite bar.

What is Marshals about?

Marshals follows Kayce Dutton as he trades ranch life for a badge after stepping into a new chapter with the U.S. Marshals. The Taylor Sheridan-produced law enforcement drama is a continuation of the beloved character’s story from Yellowstone

After a tragic loss, Kayce is in need of a fresh start, and he finds a place where he can use his skills as a cowboy and a Navy SEAL to help keep his home state of Montana safe.
