The Scream movies have always been for the meta horror fan – the fan who knows the rules and who loves to see said rules bent, broken and even occasionally followed. Scream 7 is the latest entry in the franchise, now streaming on Paramount+ after a successful theatrical run. Kevin Williamson – who wrote the original 1996 film – returns as co-writer for a fresh Ghostface thriller with a touch of nostalgia. Who else is back? Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott and Matthew Lillard as Stu Macher… sort of… helping the Scream journey come full circle.

2. The Scary Movie movies

Originally focused on a group of friends – we meet Cindy Campbell (Anna Faris), Brenda (Regina Hall), Ray (Shawn Wayans), and Shorty (Marlon Wayans) in the first Scary Movie – this horror-comedy franchise mixes things up along the way. But some things never change: No one (and no movie) is safe from its powers of parody. Look for the original starring cast in the latest entry in the series, the all-new Scary Movie (2026), now playing exclusively in theatres.

This is way scarier than middle school picture day. In The Smile films, people are cursed with sinister grins, but behind the smile are terrible hallucinations and a push to die by suicide in front of witnesses. The worst part? Smiling is contagious. The first film follows Dr. Rose Cotter (Sosie Bacon), whose patient succumbs to the curse, kicking off a chain of encounters. The second focuses on Skye Riley (Naomi Scott) – a curse-afflicted pop star with a huge audience of – eek – smiling faces.

4. The A Quiet Place movies

The first movie in the horror franchise was a breakout hit for writer-director John Krasinski (The Office), who also stars alongside Emily Blunt (his real-life wife). Krasinski’s chiller tells the tale of a family who must live their lives in silence … or risk triggering mysterious creatures.

Like its predecessor, John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place Part II boasts a near-perfect Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes. Also like its predecessor, Part II revolves around a post-apocalyptic world plagued by blind monsters with heightened hearing. Emily Blunt is back for more tense silence; Cillian Murphy (Oppenheimer) joins the cast.

A departure for the franchise, A Quiet Place: Day One tells the story of how the whole world learned to stay quiet. Oscar® winner Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave) and Joseph Quinn star; John Krasinski returns as a producer. Michael Sarnoski writes and directs.

The Paramount+ original movie Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin stars Emily Bader as a documentary filmmaker who heads to a secluded Amish community in the hopes of meeting and learning about her long-lost mother and extended family. Following a string of strange occurrences and discoveries, the filmmaker realizes that the community may be hiding something sinister.

6. Rosemary’s Baby movies

If you say you’ve never been genuinely creeped out by a movie, then we say you haven’t seen the Oscar®-winning Rosemary’s Baby. Watch the 1968 horror classic, starring Mia Farrow, and you’ll never again accept complimentary chocolate mousse from a kindly neighbor named Minnie (Ruth Gordon).

The film, based on the Ira Levin novel of the same name, went on to inspire a made-for-TV sequel (Look What’s Happened to Rosemary’s Baby) and a miniseries remake (also titled Rosemary’s Baby). While those two titles are not streaming on Paramount+, the saga’s latest entry is: Apartment 7A is a Paramount+ original movie that takes place in the mid-1960s before the events of the original film. In the 2024 film, struggling dancer Terry Gionoffrio (Julia Garner) suffers a devastating injury, and finds herself getting another shot at fame from an eccentric older couple, Roman (Kevin McNally) and … uh-oh! … Minnie (Dianne Wiest).

7. Friday the 13th movies

Let’s get straight to the, ahem, point: The first eight Friday the 13th movies are now streaming on Paramount+.
