When host Jeff Probst first marooned 16 castaways on an island to outwit, outplay, and outlast one another, who could have foreseen that 20 years later we'd still be glued to the screen to see what new challenges the Survivor gods cook up?
However, Season 40, Survivor: Winners at War—premiering Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 8/7c on CBS and CBS All Access—may be the most epic yet.

What is the theme of Survivor Season 40?
Survivor: Winners at War pits 20 previous Sole Survivors against one another in the ultimate battle to determine who is the greatest player of all time.
The returning masterminds will compete in grueling challenges, face the return of Edge of Extinction (a second shot for voted-out players to win), and tackle a brand new layer of the game with the introduction of fire tokens.
Fire tokens will serve as currency on the island and add more complexity to the already intense battle. The new twist allows players to use the tokens to buy advantages to help players stay in the game or get themselves back in the game.
