Cashel and Caro

Cashel and Caro

A Match Made In: Episode 1

Their Love Island Love Story: As the first duo to officially couple up, Caro didn't initially step forward when Cashel first met the ladies in the Villa—but neither did any of the other women. However, enough of a spark ignited between the two that the 27-year-old model/musician ultimately chose to couple up with Caro, who soon found herself won over by Cashel's cuddling skills.

Relationship Status: When Kyra entered the Villa as a bombshell, she was tasked with finding a guy to couple up with, but everyone was already paired together, which meant someone was bound to end up hurt... and alone.

While the 22-year-old musician flirted with a few of the male Islanders, Kyra had her heart set firmly on Cashel and chose to couple with him in Episode 2, sending Caro back into the single pool.
Yamen and Alana

Yamen and Alana

A Match Made In: Episode 1

Their Love Island Love Story: Alana made it abundantly clear she was interested in Yamen from the get-go and couldn't step forward fast enough. The pair had a slow start, which included one or two awkward make-out sessions, but they soon hit a groove of flirty banter and seemed to grow closer with each passing day.

Relationship Status: The Villa door is always open so, at the end of Episode 5 when new female Islanders Christen and Katrina made their grand entrance, Alana worried her budding relationship was in jeopardy—and she was right when Christen set her sights on Yamen.

Unfortunately, the Los Angeles-based real-estate agent grew stronger feelings for Christen and, when it came time for the Islanders to recouple in Episode 7, Yamen chose Christen and put an end to Alana's time on the island.
Zac and Elizabeth

Zac and Elizabeth

A Match Made In: Episode 1

Their Love Island Love Story: Did Elizabeth know when she stepped forward for Zac that she'd be staking her claim for the long haul? Perhaps not, but theirs was a relationship made in heaven.

Throughout a string of recouplings, Elizabeth and Zac never seemed tempted to choose anyone else, even if it took way too long for the two to seal their budding love with a first kiss. By Episode 10, Zac sent Elizabeth on an adorable scavenger hunt which ended with him popping the question of whether or not she'd be his girlfriend. (Spoiler alert: She said yes!)

From there, the season's first committed couple went on their first official date (Episode 12) and their love continued to blossom from there. In fact, it wasn't long until they also became the first—and only—pair of Islanders to say the "L" word (Episode 20).

Relationship Status: Like all good fairy tales, this one seemed to end happily ever after. After making it to the Final 4 couples, a feat which included getting to meet each other's families, America chose them as the last couple standing and when Elizabeth won the grand prize, she didn't hesitate at all to share the $100,000 with her Chicago-born main squeeze.
Weston and Mallory

Weston and Mallory

A Match Made In: Episode 1

Their Love Island Love Story: Weston wasn't necessarily Mallory's first choice (and vice versa), but he chose her anyway during the first coupling and was determined to work his cowboy charm on the Nike analyst. The two got along fine, but Weston's outgoing nature didn't seem to mesh well with Mallory's more reserved personality.

In fact, she knew what she wanted and Weston wasn't it.

Relationship Status: Mallory and Weston stayed together, but both Islanders seemed to hope a better match would eventually walk through the Villa door. Unfortunately, Weston's dream girl entered first when Katrina—along with fellow bombshell Christen—crashed the cowboy's birthday party and the rest was Love Island history.

In Episode 7, Weston decided to move forward with Katrina, which meant Mallory wouldn't get another shot at love because she was sent packing from the island.
Michael and Alexandra

Michael and Alexandra

A Match Made In: Episode 1

Their Love Island Love Story: For Alexandra, the Villa was filled with handsome men, but she didn't seem keen on any of the male choices aside from Michael, who happened to be a male model. Everyone in the Villa adored Michael because he was super fun to be around, but Alexandra couldn't ignore their lack of romantic chemistry and kept herself open to other options.

Relationship Status: When Dylan and Cormac descended upon the Villa in Episode 4, Alexandra was wild for Dylan and was determined to make a memorable first impression on the 25-year-old personal trainer.

That meant Michael was flying solo and, while he tried to ignite a potential flame with Caro, she wasn't buying what he was selling. Instead, Michael remained the odd man out during the recoupling in Episode 5, which resulted in his exit from the island.
Cashel and Kyra

Cashel and Kyra

A Match Made In: Episode 2

Their Love Island Love Story: The first recoupling of the season happened when Kyra developed a crush on Cashel and stole him away from Caro, just as the 21-year-old marketing student was starting to get attached.

Kyra and Cashel held strong through a few more recouplings, but the relationship hit some major snags when they continued to talk about keeping their options open and getting to know new Islanders entering the Villa.

Relationship Status: While Cashel's flirtatiousness with other females was a major red flag, it was Kyra who decided in Episode 10 that her feelings for him had changed, especially when Eric entered the Villa and pursued Kyra with intense fervor.

Cashel was devastated by the breakup, but still open to the idea of love, so he teamed up with Katrina, who had recently been dumped by Weston, to try and weather the storm. Sadly, during Episode 14, Cashel and Katrina received the least amount of votes by America and were sent packing.
Dylan and Alexandra

Dylan and Alexandra

A Match Made In: Episode 4

Their Love Island Love Story: While initially attracted to Michael, Alexandra's feelings for the male model fizzled and she was hopeful someone new would enter the Villa to sweep her off her feet. She got her wish when Dylan and Cormac arrived as the first new male Islanders sent to shake things up.

From the jump, Alexandra made it clear that Dylan was the guy for her, and he reciprocated by asking her to join him for his first date. They had such a great time laughing and saying "like," that Alexandra chose Dylan at the next recoupling ceremony and the pair stuck together through the very end.

Okay, maybe there was a slight bump in the road when the other girls told Alexandra they doubted Dylan's loyalty, but after a conversation about his intentions, Dylan said he only had eyes for her and it was smooth sailing until the season finale.

Relationship Status: Not all good things come to an end, especially for Dylan and Alexandra, who made their relationship official on their final date in Episode 20, pronouncing each other boyfriend and girlfriend. The couple's goofy love story landed them a spot as one of the Final 4 couples and they ended up facing off with Zac and Elizabeth for the grand prize.

Sure, they didn't end up winning $100K, but they weren't too disappointed with second place because they couldn't wait to leave Fiji together and embark on all-new adventures.
Cormac and Caro

Cormac and Caro

A Match Made In: Episode 5

Their Love Island Love Story: Caro was the first female Islander put in the unfortunate situation of choosing between two men at a recoupling and, in the end, her connection with Michael wasn't as strong as her connection with Cormac, so she chose the 26-year-old nightclub promoter with hopes for real romance.

Their connection continued to grow and, in Episode 7, after Katrina and Christen joined the Island, he still chose her over any of the other female Islanders. The future looked bright, right?

Wrong.

Relationship Status: By Episode 9, Caro started to develop feelings for Cormac and let him know, but it was too late. America wasn't buying the strength of their connection and America voted them as one of their least favorite couples; however, it was up to the rest of the Villa to choose which of them would stay.

After much deliberation, Caro was picked to stay and love another day, while Cormac was sent packing.
Weston and Katrina

Weston and Katrina

A Match Made In: Episode 7

Their Love Island Love Story: After landing in the friend zone with Mallory, Weston seemed smitten when he met Katrina, especially because it seemed like he found someone to connect with on a deeper level.

With Katrina's city smarts and Weston's country swagger, it looked like love could really blossom between the two, but they weren't given a lot of alone time to explore how deep their feelings could go.

Relationship Status: Around Episode 10, Weston developed somewhat of a wandering eye and his interest in Katrina quickly shifted to Kelsey when the perky mortgage marketing manager entered the Villa with a group of six newcomers.

Needless to say, it didn't take long for Weston to pair up with Kelsey, which left Katrina as the odd woman out.
Yamen and Christen

Yamen and Christen

A Match Made In: Episode 7

Their Love Island Love Story: Despite Alana's impressive display of strength after saving Yamen in the "Girl Power" competition, she couldn't maintain her grip on his heart.

Instead, Christen entered the Villa and Yamen found himself immediately intrigued, which resulted in him choosing the feisty newcomer and sending Alana home.

Relationship Status: Almost as soon as Yamen and Christen paired up, they started discussing desired family size and making plans for life off the island.

Alas, in Episode 9, the relationship ended before it ever really began when they ended as one of America's least-favorite couples and the current Islanders were forced to send two people home. (Hint: Christen was one of them.)

Yamen and Christen shared a tearful goodbye and promised to find one another again.
Yamen and Aissata

Yamen and Aissata

A Match Made In: Episode 13

Their Love Island Love Story: When Christen was dramatically whisked away from the Villa, Yamen found himself in bachelor territory once again. Lucky for him, he wouldn't be flying solo for long because five new Islanders, including the beautiful Aissata, soon entered the game and Yamen quickly found himself smitten by the celibate graduate student.

Relationship Status: In Episode 19, with the number of Islanders dwindling, the fate of remaining couples was once again put in the hands of America—and, sadly, Yamen and Aissata did not make the cut.

The two were definitely distraught to leave all their new friends but had zero plans to end the relationship. After all, Yamen promised to fly to New York City to take Aissata on a week-long date, which sounded like a great way to keep up romantic momentum.
Ray and Caro

Ray and Caro

A Match Made In: Episode 13

Their Love Island Love Story: In Episode 9Caro was left on her own when Cormac was sent packing, seemingly cursed to remain single for the duration of her Love Island stay. However, when six new Islanders—including Raymond ("Ray")—entered the Villa in Episode 10, there was no denying certain chemistry between the two.

Ray charmed Caro with his endless flow of compliments and unique appreciation for her baby voice and it wasn't long before the pair officially coupled up. Plus, staying a night in the coveted hideaway in Episode 17 didn't hurt to solidify their bond and undeniable attraction for each other.

Relationship Status: Caro and Ray made their relationship official on their final date in Episode 21. And, despite snagging third place in the Season 1 finale, these lovebirds are still flying strong.
Weston and Kelsey

Weston and Kelsey

A Match Made In: Episode 13

Their Love Island Love Story: Fans thought Weston had possibly found love with Katrina, but that fire soon went out in Episode 10 when Irish-dancing beauty Kelsey two-stepped into the Villa and Weston achieved a whole new level of adoration.

Without breaking a sweat, Kelsey swooped in and claimed Weston as her new partner, which seemed like kismet because the two couldn't wait to start talking about their future life together.

Relationship Status: Weston and Kelsey's romance was progressing quite nicely—that is, until the Dallas photographer couldn't keep his eyes off a new Islander named Emily, who was too much of a distraction for Weston to ignore.

Unfortunately for Kelsey, Emily was drawn to Weston, too, and ended up choosing him at the recoupling ceremony in Episode 17. Despite trying to keep a brave face, Kelsey decided she would rather leave voluntarily than put her fate in another male Islander's hands, so she left the Villa with her heart slightly broken but her head held high.
Eric and Kyra

Eric and Kyra

A Match Made In: Episode 13

Their Love Island Love Story: When Eric entered the Villa, he initially asked Caro on a date, but he couldn't take his intense gaze off Kyra, who had recently split with Cashel.

The Canadian tattooist made his intentions for her abundantly clear and Kyra was charmed by his confidence, which is why she chose him to couple up with at the next recoupling ceremony.

Relationship Status: Eric's forthright pursuit might've been attractive to Kyra, but it couldn't withstand the rush of unresolved emotions she experienced when Cashel left the Villa.

That's why, when it came time to recouple in Episode 17, Kyra decided to forego any potential romantic relationship with Eric in favor of her platonic friendship with Jered.
Cashel and Katrina

Cashel and Katrina

A Match Made In: Episode 13

Their Love Island Love Story: When Weston thought he found love with Kelsey, Katrina was down but not out and she decided to couple up with Cashel, who was recently dumped by Kyra. While Winston went home as a result of Katrina's decision, it allowed Katrina more time to meet someone new in the Villa and allowed Cashel to... well... continue to pine after Kyra.

Relationship Status: Alas, before Katrina was able to meet a new batch of male Islanders, she and Cashel ranked at the bottom of the Villa's popularity poll and, in Episode 14, America decided it was time for them to be sent packing.

Before leaving, Cashel gave Kyra a necklace and reiterated his feelings for her, while Katrina wished her new friends well and left to find love on the mainland.
Weston and Emily

Weston and Emily

A Match Made In: Episode 17

Their Love Island Love Story: As the last female Islander to enter the Villa, Emily walked into a sticky situation. She hit it off with Weston right away, claiming he was the only one for her, but their connection was put to the test as Kelsey refused to give up Weston without a fight and Kyra expressed that her feelings for him were possibly more than just platonic.

Regardless of any potential obstacles, Emily was the one who staked her claim on Weston and nothing—or no one—else was going to come between them.

Relationship Status: Despite their relationship being somewhat short and often tumultuous, Weston and Emily made it to the Final 4 couples. Ultimately, they landed in fourth place on finale night, but that hardly mattered because the pair had every intention of riding off into the Love Island sunset together.
Jered and Kyra

Jered and Kyra

A Match Made In: Episode 17

Their Love Island Love Story: After wrestling with her feelings for Cashel while coupled up with Eric, Kyra decided she needed to get rid of any romantic distractions and chose Jered during her last recoupling ceremony all in the name of friendship.

From there on, much of Kyra's time with the Florida-based real-estate agent was spent sorting out drama with Weston and Emily, or wondering if Cashel was the one who got away. However, the two were a perfect match for competitions and considered themselves an excellent "homie couple."

(We agree!)

Relationship Status: Since neither Jered or Kyra were invested in each other romantically, it came as no surprise that, when the public was tasked with choosing their favorite Love Island couples, Jered and Kyra were on the bottom of the heap and asked to leave the Island.
