10 Reasons Jerry Deserves A Badge On Hawaii Five-0

Jerry Ortega (Jorge Garcia) didn't seem destined for a job in law enforcement, but we've seen him become a true public servant on Hawaii Five-0. During Season 6, he was rewarded with his own office. Since then, he's been campaigning to get a badge, too. After three years of showing off his skills and building his list of accomplishments, we have ten great reasons why he deserves one.

Five-0 means a lot to Jerry, and Jerry means a lot to Five-0. He's even been given a title: Special Consultant.

Jerry's been helping Five-0 for awhile, but his good track record goes back much further: Chin Ho Kelly and Jerry were high school classmates.

With his long locks and scruffy beard, Jerry doesn't look like a stereotypical cop. If we've learned anything during the past few Halloweens, it's that he certainly knows how to rock a costume, too!

Jerry's a social guy who makes friends with everybody, from Kamekona to conspiracy theorists (who might come in handy as informants!).

Backpack at a pig farm? Cargo shorts at a defense contractor's office? Jerry's already in the field with Five-0, and he's even been asked to show his badge.

As an avid conspiracy theorist and master technologist, Jerry knows just what a bad guy would do to avoid surveillance.

Jerry loves details, he's good at connecting the dots, and always has a vivid imagination. He once realized that a stolen painting could double as a pirate treasure map—who else would think of that?

When the team embraced Jerry and gave him an office, he didn't complain that it was in the basement—he got cozy and set up a TV "window" to one of his favorite beaches. He's also one of the only people who could get away with giving nicknames to McGarrett.

While his methods are unconventional, his results are undeniable. Jerry's helped Five-0 tackle cases they couldn't have closed without him.
