Celebrate The Carol Burnett Show's 50th Anniversary On Sunday, Dec. 3

Stephen Colbert, Maya Rudolph, Jim Carrey, and more will gather to celebrate the series' diamond anniversary.

It's time to have a laugh and sing a song!

This year, The Carol Burnett Show turns 50 and to celebrate the momentous occasion, CBS will honor the groundbreaking comedy series with The Carol Burnett 50th Anniversary Special, which airs on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 8/7c on CBS and CBS All Access.



The one-night event, which will film at the series' original soundstage at CBS Television City in Los Angeles, will feature Burnett, original cast members Vicki Lawrence and Lyle Waggoner, costume designer Bob Mackie, and a slew of special guests, including:

- Jim Carrey
- Kristin Chenoweth
Stephen Colbert
- Harry Connick Jr.
- Bill Hader
- Jay Leno
- Jane Lynch
- Bernadette Peters
- Maya Rudolph
- Martin Short 



Over the course of the two-hour anniversary special, the comedy queen will look back to her favorite sketches, memorable wardrobe moments, and show bloopers.

She'll also ruminate on how the show continues to influence sketch comedy today.

"I can't believe how fast the time went, and what makes me the happiest is that so much of the funny stuff we did still holds up today and we can share it with generations to come,” Burnett said in a statement. “What a great ride!"
